A Garden Party Blog Debut!

Hello to all our friends, family and floral fans! Welcome to our first blog post, we hope you enjoy this new venture with us! Let me introduce myself…I am Mary (Colson) Coombs, owner/operator/designer/and lower level staff member of A Garden Party Florist. My sister Dawn (Colson) Clark and I work (and play) together to help create what we like to call “flower magic”. I will probably be writing most of these blogs, as my lovely sister is home mothering her two beautiful girls. Dawn and I knew many years ago that we wanted to combine our floral design talents, and we are so proud to watch our dreams come true right before our eyes! It is our true passion to meet today’s brides and to help them plan their wedding day floral dreams, from lush bouquets to eye-catching centerpieces. Wedding design is our first love, we feel so lucky to be a part of their special day. We are also becoming known for our event work, from anniversary parties to fundraising banquets, we do it all! We take pride in getting to know our client’s needs, and then surprising them with more than they ever imagined. So if you are out there and have seen our work, post a comment to let us know how we are doing! We would love to hear from you!

Ok, on to today’s real business, sorry for the rambling, I just can’t stop talking about all the fun things we have been doing. I would like to share with you some of our most recent work, particulary our favorite wedding so far this year. We have seen so many brides have a love for pink flowers, but no one compares to Christine! She wanted pinkpinkpinkpinkpink flowers and that is what she got! Dawn and I LOVE how well they photographed (thanks to Gary Johnson). If you are thinking of using pink in your upcoming wedding, try to think of a complimentary color to help make it pop. In this case, we used orange and some bright green. What do you think? Some other colors that we like to pair up with pink are purples and blues for a cooler palette. Christine was a great bride to work with, she let us do whatever we wanted! How thrilling for us! We could tell by the smile on her face that she was happy in the end!
