South Jersey Wedding Florist - Emily & Brian at Running Deer Golf Club featuring Bride Diaries

Last week we participated in a bridal show at Running Deer.  We love working there; the staff is amazing, and they are always looking for ways to improve.  Currently, they just finished a beautiful renovation on their bridal suite.  We will be back at Running Deer for another bridal show on Feb. 9th.  Come and visit us!

Today's blog features a beautiful, music themed wedding at Running Deer from last March.

Emily carried a stunning bouquet of parrot tulips, orange anemone, ferns, ranunculus, deep pink hyacinth, and sashaba spray roses.

The anemone were gorgeous....a total impulse buy that worked out beautifully!

The colors in the bouquets were stunning against the bridesmaids peacock blue gowns.

Love the pop of color from Emily's shoes!

Brian's bout featured an anemone, pink ginestra, and was wrapped with peacock blue twine.

The aisle was lined with orange and pink rose petals and we used extra tulips, designed to look like they were growing down the aisle.  LOVE how this turned out.

As a nod to their music theme, Emily provided these records, which we hung from the chairs lining the aisle.

In the foyer we accented a vintage record player with masses of flowers growing around it.

The place cards were actually tickets to the wedding of Emily and Brian.

For the centerpieces we used rolled up sheet music to hold stems of beautiful, locally grown tulips.  The square vases sat on top of records and a record was used to designate the table number.

Emily's Bride Diaries

1. What was your all time favorite moment of your special day?

Together our favorite was the "first look" before we got married, and I thought that was great. It was a chance to relax, see one another, and spend quality time together, which doesn't always happen on the night of the wedding. My husband's favorite was the anticipation of waiting to see me. My other favorite was the serenade that happened - my husband was in a music fraternity and they have a tradition to sing a serenade to the bride. While I knew it was going to happen, our guests did not and they loved it - and I loved sharing that moment with them.

2. We know things don't always go as planned...Were there any entertaining wedding bloopers?

Not really. We were an hour behind schedule in getting ready, but that wasn't really a big deal. We also forgot two people's placecards, but they found a place to sit and it all worked out.

3. Any wedding toasts that made you laugh, cry, or gasp?

My maid of honor rapped her toast, and it was amazing! It was a surprise that she was going to do it (even though I kept begging her ahead of time because she is great at rapping!) and the crowd loved it!

4. It's okay to admit it - did you have any Bridezilla moments?

I don't think I was too much of a Bridezilla, but I think my bridesmaids thought I was crazy because I had quite a few things accomplished months in advance. I did have a Bridezilla moment on the wedding day because we were an hour behind schedule, but it all resolved itself in the end.

5. Did you have a wedding planner? If so, did it make your day run smoother? Was it worth it?

No wedding planner for this girl! Solo. I did make a bridesmaid a point person in case anyone had questions the day of, though.

6. Cake or cupcakes? What was the flavor?
We went with cupcakes in three flavors, made by friends. They were Cookies n' Cream, Red Velvet and Vanilla. We also had cake pops, which were placed at everyone's seat. Our favors were CD's which my husband and I made.

7. We always try to bring your floral dreams to life...did we succeed? In what ways? Is there any room for improvement?

YES! I was first of all in LOVE with everything AGP offered. Mary was my consultant and she was awesome. The flowers were beautiful. What was originally planned for the décor didn't work out and I think they had to improvise by putting some tulips in the ground - and it was the best. People were talking about the flowers for a while after the wedding. I appreciated the Pitnerest board set up, and the fact that my emails were answered in detail and with real concern about what I wanted. I'm sure there is always room for improvement somewhere, but not with my wedding :).

8. What song really got the party started?

"I Gotta Feelin'" by the Black Eyed Peas had everyone on the dance floor, as did "Gangham Style" by Psy.

9. Who were your vendors?

Catering - Running Deer Golf Club

Bakery - Friends - Greg Guenther and Emily Evelhoch of Cakecophony; Hollingsworth's Cookies did the cake pops.

Dress - David's Bridal

Hair and Makeup - Hair was Techniques Salon and Spa; makeup was Danielle of Dani Kay.

Entertainment - EBE DJ, Ben Ostroff.

Photography - Jon Macapodi

10. I'm sure your day was amazing, but if you could change one thing about your wedding what would it be? Or would you not change anything at all?
Wouldn't change a thing! We were set on getting married outside even though it was March 9th. It snowed the night before and we were thinking it wouldn't work out. But miraculously, it was the warmest day of March and we did have our ceremony outside, and that was more than I could have asked for!
