Wilmington Wedding Florist : Cristina & Kevin at the Brantwyn Estate

When I first got engaged, it was around the same time I started working at A Garden Party.  I was floating on air, helping brides plan their weddings while constantly keeping a mental list about what I wanted for mine.  Every week new photos would come in for me to blog, and I thought that I had seen it all, that I knew what to expect since I worked behind-the-scenes.

If there was one thing I should have learned during all that, it was to never underestimate Mary and Dawn. Ever.

A Garden Party has given me a new appreciation for nature, for flowers, for the beauty that can come together with the right amount of talent and style.  To see these women in their element, they aren't just doing their job.  They are creating custom artwork, tailored to fit the personality of their clients.  For as much as the flowers and arrangements represent A Garden Party, they also just as fittingly represent me.  I didn't even know that was possible!

And of course my photographers were Tami & Ryan Photography!  These two are just as thank-worthy!  This couple came to take my wedding photos - and were ready to sew up my ripped dress,  whipped out umbrellas to protect me from the storm, chauffered me to my venue since I was going to just take a cab (apparently that's frowned upon when you're in a white gown), and jumped up in the middle of their dinner break to catch a surprise moment with my groom.   These two are awesome people, never stop smiling and joking, and take pretty good photos as well.  Love you, guys!

So please, allow me to invite you to view my wedding photos from The Brantwyn Estate in Wilmington, DE.

My bouquet was unlike any I had ever seen before.  It had a wild mix of elements - garden roses, berries, astilbe, dahlias, greenery, amaranthus - and the perfect cascading shape that I love, without being too overwhelming.  Ribbon tails enhanced the cascade, and man, I loved my bouquet.

I can't take credit for this beautiful hair and make-up - after a few disastrous hair trials, Jess Spina of Your Day Your Way came in like a gorgeous blonde knight-in-shining armor to save the day with my hair.  My talented cousin, Lori, did my make-up - I have never looked felt so good!

Kevin's groom bout was very seasonal, with light pink spray roses, berries and a touch of greenery.

My two sisters were my bridesmaids, carrying smaller versions of my bouquet.  I loved how familial my entire wedding experience was, and there are no two women closer to my heart than these two!

My niece, Hannah, was my flowergirl.  When you work at A Garden Party, you go all out - she carried a bouquet, wore a floral crown AND had this adorable floral belt!

With Hurricane Joaquin barrelling through the east coast, we had to move our ceremony inside.  Initially, we were disappointed to hear the news - but how can you stay disappointed when this is the back up plan?!  Mary (in full hair and make up and wearing a floor length dress) along with my brother-in-law, Adam, carried these lanterns from the outdoor ceremony spot, in the rain, so that we would have a gorgeous space to say our vows.

Wooden lanterns with marsala candles were made even prettier with small arrangements of garden roses, dahlias, and greenery.

These topiaries! I mean, come on!  The only bad thing here is that these don't really grow in nature.

Guests were greeted with a welcome that was in true A Garden Party fashion.  I love this wreath of magnolia leaves, eucalyptus, peach garden roses and dahlias.

I had an open seating plan to encourage guests to mingle and wander throughout the rooms of Brantwyn.  Each room had different color schemes and incredibly ornate mantle pieces.  I told them "not to worry about it," but should have known that Mary and Dawn would never leave them untouched!

These gold mercury bud vases are always classic accents, and are great for sprucing up any open space.

These black bird baths have always been a favorite of mine - here they were used as bar decor, placed on gold mirrored trays for an extra dramatic flair.  The arrangement was made from burgundy dahlias, dusty miller, greenery, and mini pineapples!

A garland of smilax wound its way down the curved banister of the staircase.  The way that Brantwyn was transformed honestly made it seem like the house itself was growing flowers.

Kevin and I have a son together, and our niece and nephews are incredibly close to us.  What better way to celebrate with the kids than to put together a vibrant children's section??  Leave it to Dawn to find a miniature table with miniature GOLD CHIVARI CHAIRS.

As a tribute to my great-aunt, I had an idea for these terrarium coffee tables which we could use in a lounge area.  Mary took my request to heart, and put together 3 different lounge areas with 2 of the coffee tables!  Guests occupied these spaces all night, and it really enhanced my open seating theme.

They say the way into a man's heart is through his stomach, so I surprised Kevin with a pie-bar.  Also, a great excuse to do some of my favorite chalk art!

I like to think that I was the show-stopper on my wedding night, but clearly it was this magestic piece of floral goodness.  This two-tiered chandelier stopped everyone in their tracks.  Rigged with strands of fairy lights, layers of smilax, dozens of roses, it was a stunning piece of art.  The hanging green amaranthus was my favorite part.

Work hard play hard!  So happy to have this photo of Team A Garden Party - these ladies went beyond their job calling to make my wedding day the stuff of dreams.  I can not thank them enough for all of the hard work, the hustle, and the creativity that went into decorating this venue - and I'm so happy we all got to get dressed up together and dance the night away!
