Danielle and Dan were one of those couples that bring a smile to your face just to see them together.  They got married on in Avalon at The Golden Inn(gorgeous venue for a wedding, especially if you are looking to have a beach ceremony). Unfortunately their beach ceremony got rained out at the very last minute, but these two just went with the flow….all they wanted was to get married, and moving the ceremony inside was fine with them. It was refreshing to see a couple that was so laid back, fun, and full of love for one another. Not only were the two of them super sweet, but their family was the best. Danielle’s dad was trying to keep the flower girl busy prior to the ceremony so he brought her into the reception room so she could watch us set up. She was the sweetest little girl, and while he was watching us he said ‘you sure do have a gratifying job, watching this all come together’. Those words really stood out to me, because he is absolutely right…we are lucky to have a job that we love. I was beyond thrilled when Langdon Photography sent us these photos. I was really impressed with their work, check out how amazing these colors look!

Danielle’s bouquet featured lavender roses, lavender sweetpea, asters, dark purple callas, scabiosa, freesia and brunia berries.  I will never get tired of working with purple, it is definitely my favorite color.

Her bridesmaids carried the same flowers used to make a smaller bouquet.  They looked amazing against their blue dresses.

I loved the stem wrap that we did.  We wrapped the stems with navy ribbon and accented with criss-crossed narrow purple ribbon and purple pearl pins.

The flower girl carried a pomander of purple carnations, cute!

For Dan’s bout we used a scabiosa, brunia berries, and wrapped it with ribbon.

We accented the bar with this large martini glass filled with a modern dome of carnations and bear grass.  We have 3 sizes of these martini glasses available for rent, you KNOW you want to add them to your wedding order now ladies!

We dressed up our silver birdcage with carnations and purple ribbon.

On half of the rectangular tables we used our Diana Candleholder Trio.  We swirled bear grass in the vase, and floated a candle on top.  These candleholders look amazing, and are one of our most popular rental items.

On the other half of the tables we used our Diana Pedestal Vase.  We used more of the bear grass in the vase, and topped it with a dome of asters, lavander roses, carnations, and scabiosa.

Their cake was so cute, check out the surfboarding couple on the top!

Happy Monday!  Mary and I had a busy weekend, full of beautiful weddings (our favorite kind of weekend!). Today I want to share Kim and Chris’s wedding with you.  They were married October 1st at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill.  They were such a FUN couple.  Kim was a joy to work with, a gorgeous bride and the kind of girl that always has a smile on her face. Another huge bonus to this wedding was that we met Debbie and Denise of Art + Life Photography. These two were amazing, they even went so far as to send as a zip drive of the images after the wedding. I was so impressed with not only how professional they were, but how friendly, and how amazing the photos turned out. Check it out for yourself…

Kim’s bouquet turned out GORGEOUS.  We used white hydrangea, blush pink roses, white dahlias, pink dendrobium orchids, and pink snowberry…the snowberry was a last minute add and we LOVED how it turned out.  We accented her bouquet with white ostrich feather trim.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink roses, pink dahlias, dendrobium orchids, pink ranunculas, and touches of the snowberry.  To tie in their black dresses, we accented their bouquets with black ostrich feather trim.

We added some of the feather trim to a dendrobium orchid for Chris’s bout.

The centerpieces were done in our bell vase (a popular rental item).  We used white and light pink hydrangea and at the last minute decided to add the dendrobium orchids.  We filled the top part of the vase with crushed pink glass, and made the actual floral centerpiece in a separate dish so that guests could take them home at the end of the night.  To finish the look we hung the table number, a totally cute picture of the couple making silly faces, inside the vase and added some pink glass crystals hanging off the top.

Now that Mary and I are both doing this full time (YAY!!!) we are able to do so much more.  Not only are we doing weddings, but we are also doing everyday arrangements (nothing says “I love you” like a sunny floral arrangement!), sympathy work, birthday parties, showers, etc.  We love what we do and are so excited that we now have the opportunity to showcase even more of our floral designs. We have fresh flowers in the coolers full time now and flowers getting delivered at least twice a week.  Give us a call next time you need a centerpiece for your table, a bouquet for your girl, or a get well basket for a friend. We pride ourselves on always doing something a little different and using the freshest flowers.  We are even thinking of expanding into holiday home decorating….we are your gals if you need wreaths for your doors, swags for your windows, and a gorgeously decorated tree.  And for all you guys out there that follow our blog (I am sure there are so many, haha!)…what about flowers for a year for your mom or your wife – that would be an awesome present!  Every woman loves getting flowers!  We are happy to deliver to Salem, Gloucester and Cumberland counties for a minimal fee. Elmer Hospital is just down the road, we make floral deliveries there often to help brighten a patients day. Recently, Mary got a phone call at 5 pm for a birthday arrangement and it was delivered by 6 pm….we just HAD to get it there on her birthday, and we were happy to do it!

Mary and I grew up spending basically every single weekend down at the shore, so to this day we love a trip down to the beach.  When Jessie came to us with her ideas for her wedding day, we got really excited.  Jessie was such a sweet bride, with tons of DIY projects and attention to detail that we love.  She was a bride that genuinely seemed to be enjoying every minute of planning her wedding, and of course we loved coming up with the florals for her big day. The ceremony and reception both took place at The Southern Mansion in Cape May, NJ on a gorgeous sunny day in September.  Mary and I were sooo impressed with The Southern Mansion.  It is gorgeous there and the staff was so helpful and accommodating, we would definitely recommend any bride to be that is looking for a location at the Jersey shore to check them out.  We can’t wait to do another wedding there.  Lucky for us T Alimario got some AMAZING shots of their wedding day (another vendor we love to recommend – he is an awesome photographer!).

Jessie’s bouquet featured callas, dahlias, orchids, circus roses, bupleurum, bear grass, and (one of my favorite details of all) white ostrich feather trim.  Her bridesmaids carried coordinating bouquets of tiger lilies, circus roses, and dahlias – all wrapped up with a pretty turquoise bow.

I LOVED her bridesmaids dresses – gorgeous!

For the groomsmen bouts we used a simple calla lily accented with the same turquoise ribbon and orange pins.

For the ceremony we used two of our pillars (rental items) to stand these vase arrangements on, which were later moved inside to be used as reception decor.

We had some extra dahlias so came up with these impromptu to hang on the doors behind the couple.  We always try to use up every flower we order for our brides and pride ourselves on adding extra details like this to each wedding we do.

Jessie asked if we could use rosemary, which symbolizes remembrance, during her ceremony.  We tied rosemary and an orange lily to each chair to line her aisle.

As guests entered the reception room there was a small table set up with these little note cards, so that guests could leave their marriage advise for the new couple.  We added these vases of submerged orchids and floating candles to dress up the table.

In the reception room there are two fireplace mantels.  Jessie had framed pictures of their parents on their wedding day (another great detail!) and we just used fresh flowers and candles to accent the mantle.

Jessie made these to hang on the backs of the chairs – amazing!

She had given us these small paper orchids to use however we wanted…we decided to add one to each seating place.  Adding a single flower for each guest is one of those touches that really makes your guests feel special.

Half of their centerpieces were done in our Diana Pedestal, which could be rented or given to guests to take home. We filled them with circus roses, dahlias, and lilies.

The other half of the centerpieces we used our Diana Candleholders (rental item) with submerged orchids, turquoise crystals, and floating candles.  Check out the favors, salt water taffy…yum!

This vase arrangement is the same one that was outside at the ceremony site, it was moved inside to decorate the gift table.  Check out the gift box that Jessie made!

We added more vases of submerged flowers, candles, and calla lilies to the bar.  Literally every spare surface of this room had flowers (my favorite kind of wedding!).

Fall is finally here!  I was so excited to do Meredith and Dan’s wedding a few weeks ago, it was our first ‘fall’ wedding of the year so far. I got married in the fall, and for some reason it has always been my favorite time of the year.  Meredith came to us and had a vision of a fall wedding that was elegant and beautiful and I really think we made it happen.  Meredith and Dan’s wedding was held at Maggiano’s in Cherry Hill, NJ. We made a special trip to check out the room ahead of time, and were more than happy to enjoy a really nice lunch while we were there (the food was to die for). This couple was a joy to work with and we are thrilled to have these pictures from the talented Denise Mabilog to share with you.

Meredith’s bouquet was gorgeous with ivory dahlias, white mini calla lilies, peach spray roses, touches of bittersweet, and fiddleheads (LOVE the fiddleheads – aren’t they awesome!).

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of terra cotta roses, cymbidium orchids, peach spray roses, bittersweet, and of course more of the fiddlehead ferns.

We love to add a single flower to each place setting.  It really dresses up the table!

This was their candy buffet (note the favor bags in the previous picture) and I wanted to include this picture to show how pretty the votives looked.  We also have gold and silver mercury votives that are available to rent, more colors coming soon!  We also love to add rose petals, and any other extra flowers we have left to tables like this….it is usually the little things like this that really help bring a room together.

I think this cake turned out so pretty. I love the draped fondant and all we did was add a few orchids and some bittersweet.

Here is a final shot of the bridal party.  I loved the bridesmaids short chocolate brown dresses.  Gorgeous!

We are back to work this week! Thanks for bearing with us as we dealt with the passing of our dearest Poppop. He was a huge fan of A Garden Party and loved to see what we created for our lovely brides…we will all miss him.

Back to business…we love to hear feedback from our brides and have had a little dilemma recently, so we are asking for your advice. A lot of what we do features rental items, vases, crystals, lanterns, etc.  We like to suggest rental items for potential brides because it is such a money saver.  You can get a lot more bang for your buck if we design an arrangement in a container that is returned back to us for future use.  Unfortunately we have had some problems over the last few months…not with our brides (we love you all!) but with reception halls.  We have had quite a few vases broken / missing when we go back to pick up the rental items.  This leaves us in quite an awkward situation because of course we don’t want to bill the bride, yet the reception halls aren’t really willing to take responsibility for the situation.  We have recently started adding a security deposit to any weddings that have rental items….what is your opinion on this?  The deposit is 100% refundable, as long as all rental items are returned to us in good condition.  So say the security deposit is $100 and everything is picked up in perfect condition except for one broken vase valued at $20. A Garden Party will refund the bride $80. Of course we hate taking more of your hard earned money (we know what it is like to work for a buck!) but we are hoping that our brides will stress the value of the rental items onto the on-site coordinators. Recently, we have also started to leave a detailed list of items that we expect to pick up with the on-site coordinator, which has been a great help. We always want to be fair to our brides (and keep our prices down as much as possible!) so we want your opinion…..would you be willing to agree to a security deposit?  Help us find a solution!  And of course there is no way we can do a blog without adding some photos, so here are some ideas using some of our popular rental items.

These lanterns have been a huge hit lately.  We have used them in centerpieces, lined them down aisles, and hung them from arbors.

This centerpiece was done in our Diana Pedestal Vase.  We have coordinating Diana Candleholders that match this vase – see the next picture.

This is our Bell Vase – here it is used with a centerpiece that is done a seperate dish, so it can be removed and taken home by guests.  This vase can also be flipped over and used the opposite way.  Very versatile!

This chandelier is fairly new – imagine this hanging over you as you stand outside saying your vows!

In August we set up our first wedding at The Seaview Dolce Resort in Galloway, NJ.  Kristen had such a fun vision for her wedding day and we were more than happy to help. Her wonderful photographer, Paula Cella sent us these amazing pictures, which we couldn’t wait to share. Kristen and John’s day was full of pink gerber daisies, limes, and lots of special details that all added up to a gorgeous wedding.

Kristen’s bouquet was full of pink gerber daisies, calla lilies, and green hypericum.  We accented the bouquet with criss crossed bear grass and colored pearl pins in the gerbers.  Striking!

The bridesmaids bouquets used similiar flowers, but were wrapped with black ribbon accented with wire – love these pink vases!

This pergola turned out awesome.  We hung little vases of gerbers and added a large arbor piece to the top.  Stunning!

We hung the same bud vases on shephard’s hooks to line the aisle.

Half of the tables had this centerpiece which was done in our Chic Vase (a rental item) filled with limes.  On top we arranged the flowers in a detachable dish (so guests can take them home to enjoy).  We uses gerbers, dahlias, spider mums, and orchids.  The colors really popped against the black table linens.

The other half of the centerpieces were done in a glass cube filled with limes.  Pink and lime green are a hot color combo!

Mary and I have been sooooo wonderfully busy! Sorry we are behind on our blogging, we have quite a few weddings that I have been wanting to blog about…it is just finding the time! A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of doing wedding flowers for Taralynn and Jim. Taralynn was such a sweet bride, she was so excited on her wedding day and actually teared up when she saw her flowers <3 They were married at Scotland Run in Williamstown, NJ. They had an outdoor ceremony (Scotland Run has some fantastic landscaping), and were lucky enough to have some gorgeous weather. As usual T Alimario completely blew me away with his pictures of the day, I really can’t say enough good things about him. Check out the pictures and see for yourself!

Taralynn’s bouquet was all calla lilies, accented with purple beaded wire.

The bridesmaids carried coordinating bouquets of calla lilies and lavender roses, accented with black beaded wire.

Her mom carried a small nosegay of calla lilies, a great alternative to a corsage.

I LOVE this picture – look at how sweet this little flower girl looks with her pomander!

Large white urns filled with delphinium, hydrangea, and roses flanked the couple during the ceremony.

Taralynn had these adorable little bird place cards for her place card table.  We made ‘trees’ for the birds to sit in and accented with fresh flowers.  Soooo cute!

Here is our silver birdcage.  This is a popular rental item.  For Taralynn we accented it with black ostrich feather trim and satin ribbon.

We dressed up the cake with hydrangea and delphinium florets.

This is such a huge honor for Mary and I…we can’t seem to wipe the smiles off our faces today. We have been stalking Style Me Pretty for years. They are one of the biggest wedding blogs out there, so when we submitted a photo shoot that we did with Denise Mabilog we were over the moon to see it had been picked to be featured on Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book Blog. Vicki (one of our favorite brides) really stepped up for us and volunteered to wear her wedding dress again in our shoot that took place at Mary’s brother in law’s farm. This whole shoot really showcased a lot of what Mary and I love….lots of bling (did you see her dress?!?!?), bright colors, and fun flowers. Check it out here, be sure to leave us a comment! Recently Mary and I have had the pleasure of doing quite a few weddings at the Centerton Country Club. We have really enjoyed working with them and were excited to share these pictures (all courtesy of T Alimario, his work is amazing!). Karlie came to us looking for a romantic wedding day filled with roses, and as you are going to see – that is exactly what we gave her.

Check out the garden roses in Karlie’s bouquet – they have about a million petals a piece and look awesome when they open up!  We added pink sweet pea, pink spray roses, and geranium leaves to finish the look.

Here is another shot – I loved the bright green geranium leaves, they were a last minute addition to her order and I love them in her bouquet.  Many times wholesalers will have items like this that are kind of seasonal and brides that trust us with the flower selection usually end up with the best final product.  We never know what exactly will be available the week of your wedding, but we always try to find a little something different to add, like these geranium leaves.

This always makes me gasp a little – but it also always turns into an amazing shot!  Check out the pink sash on the one dress, you are going to be seeing it again…

We dressed up the arbor with silk flowers provided to us by Karlie.  We are happy to work with our brides if they have materials they have already purchased.

These hanging pomanders (made of CARNATIONS…we break our rule of no carns for fun projects like these) turned out even better than we had dreamed they would.  We hung them with the same pink sashes that you saw earlier on Karlie’s bridesmaid.  Karlie scored a great deal and bought bunches of them for us to use.  The color was perfect!

The pomanders were then carried in and used to accent the reception room. Check out the ice sculpture (I believe this is part of Centerton Country Club’s wedding package).

The pomanders were also brought in and placed on fishbowls. I think the fish really liked their spruced up home, ha.

One of our most popular rental options are these Diana candleholders.  For Karlie we tinted the water pink and floated candles on top.  We have also floated flowers in them.  Lots of options for these!
