The Wedding Flower Sample Sale ExplainedBy: Mary Coombs

We recently told many of our brides about our upcoming sample sale, which is taking place in November. To clear up some confusion, we’ve decided to explain ourselves a little better. Here are all the details and answers to the most frequently asked questions.

We are participating in a bridal show at The Greenview Inn at Eastlyn Golf Course in Vinleand on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 6:30 pm. (If you want to attend the bridal show, you can register by clicking here.) For the show, we make various flower arrangements to display at our booth. Some of the arrangements we display are samples we create for our brides. Since we are using the samples in the show, we offer our brides 40% off the invoice price for all samples. Win-win for both!

Samples can be viewed at the flower shop on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 or Thursday, November 15, 2012 between 9 am and 8 pm (or come see us at the show!). To view your samples at the shop, you must make an appointment. We are booking 1.5 hour appointments, so we have plenty of time to review all of the details on the order. The extra $40 meeting fee is also waived.

So what is a sample?

A sample is an arrangment we create so you can see what the flowers will look like on the day of your wedding. The most common samples we create are bridal bouquets and centerpieces. We try to use the exact flowers, vases, and ribbon for the sample as we will use on the day of your wedding. This allows you to get a sneak peek at your wedding flowers.

Why would you order a sample?

Many brides find it useful to order a sample because it helps them visualize their wedding day. For instance, if you order a sample centerpiece, you will get to see how your centerpieces will look on the day of your wedding. This is very beneficial to brides who have a hard time visualizing or who are unsure about their flower choices. By viewing a sample before your wedding, you can decide if you want to make any changes to your order and iron out last minute details before the big day.

What is the 40% discount?

Normally, samples are the same price as the day-of items listed on your invoice. For instance, if your bridal bouquet is $150 and you want to see a sample, the sample would be $150. However, during this sample sale, we offer 40% off on all samples. Therefore, the bouquet sample valued at $150 would be $90. This discount only applies to the samples. It does not apply to your day-of order.

When can I see my sample?

The samples will be on display at the bridal show on Tuesday, November 13,2012. If you choose to attend the bridal show (which is not necessary), you can view your sample at the show. Otherwise, we have appointments available on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 and Thursday, November 15, 2012 between 9 am and 8 pm. Since we already displayed the arrangements at the bridal show, you will be able to take home the sample, excluding any rental items.

In the past, brides have really enjoyed participating in the sample sale. They love getting a sneak peek at their wedding flowers! If you are interested in taking advantage of our sample sale, contact Mary at mary@gardenpartysisters.com or (609)-364-2529.

**Important Note: All orders are due by Tuesday, November 7, 2012 at 5:00 PM.

Do You Need Homecoming Flowers?By: Mary Coombs

It’s that time of year again. School is back in session, and high school students are gearing up for homecoming. While homecoming flowers aren’t a necessity, they are still a fun homecoming tradition and an easy way to make the night even more special. (Plus, boys, your dates will always appreciate flowers.)

The most common homecoming flowers are wristlets for the ladies and boutonnieres for the guys. Although, some girls do choose to order a small bouquet. Wristlets are $30 and boutonnieres start at $10. Simply let us know the colors of the dress and if you have any favorite flowers. (We have plenty of bling we can add to make the flowers young and fun. )

Schalick High School’s homecoming will be held this Saturday on October 27, 2012, and Woodstown High School’s homecoming will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012. To place a flower order, call Mary at (609) 364-2529. Lots of moms are texting in dress pictures so we can match them perfectly!

Philadelphia Wedding Florist: Molly and Matt at Glen Foerd MansionBy: Mary Coombs

This fall has been so amazing.  I can’t believe it is already the middle of October!  I also can’t believe it has taken me this long to blog about Molly and Matt’s wedding at The Glen Foerd Mansion in Philadelphia right on the Delaware River.  Their wedding was last May and was definitely one of my favorites of the year.  The colors, the couple, the location, all the sweet details….and then to top it off, all the amazing pictures from Aysa Photography.  Molly is so sweet and is one of those brides that I feel we really developed a true friendship with.  I miss talking to her!

Check out this bridal party.  I am in love with the statement necklaces on the bridesmaids!

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of purple sweetpea, fuchsia peonies, purple anemone, succulents, and peacock feathers.  These colors looked amazing together and the peacock feathers added the perfect touch of drama.

How sweet are these two?!?!  Molly carried a bouquet of white peonies, white sweetpea, white ranunculus, succulents, and fiddleheads.

With an all white bouquet, texture is so important, and I loved all of the texture in this bouquet.  We added just a touch of color with the fiddleheads, succulents, and peacock feathers.

Molly made this feature herself!  We accented it with purple vanda orchids and hung it as the perfect pretty backdrop during their ceremony.  We flanked it with our wooden pedestals with lanterns and a ring of flowers.  Some extra rose petals were used to form a heart in the grass, marking the spot Matt and Molly would stand.

The aisle was lined with lanterns and Molly made these pretty cones to hold toss petals.

This is one of my favorite centerpiece styles.  A gorgeous ring of flowers around our lanterns.  This design featured viburnum, fuchsia peonies, dianthus, purple tulips, purple trachelium, purple veronica, and succulents.

The same style was used on half of the tables as a centerpiece.  I loved how they used pictures of themselves, framed, as the table numbers.

The other half of the tables featured a black cylinder vase with sandblasted manzanita branches accented with purple vanda orchids and having votives.

Glen Foerd Mansion is such a gorgeous venue.  Loved this shot, showing how beautiful the room is all set.

Molly did this herself too!  Loved this idea…Mary left a note for them!

I couldn’t blog about this wedding and not include this picture…..I mean what bride doesn’t want their florists to sneak into the photo booth for an awesome photo op???  To be fair, we came back at the end of the night, to break everything down and couldn’t miss a chance to tell Molly and Matt how much we love them!

Thank you to all of our brides and followers for being so patient with us through this BUSY fall wedding season.  We promise to get back to our regular weekly blogging soon!

DIY Wedding Flowers: Emily & Don, Pittsgrove NJBy: Mary Coombs

Wow – this weather is insane today!  We have been sooo busy here, and have another packed week this week; sorry we are so far behind on our blogging!  This week we are hosting 3 (yes, 3!) DIY parties here at the flower shop.  We LOVE having the brides and their friends and family in here designing their flowers.  It is so much fun, for us, and for them!  Basically the bride and around 6 or 7 friends / family come here to our studio and we help them design and put together their bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, etc.  You can see some more info about these DIY events, HERE. We had a DIY wedding this past May that turned out so stinking cute, that I just had to blog about it.  Check out these adorable photos of Emily and Don’s wedding.  Their wedding took place on a private property in Pittsgrove, NJ. Many thanks to John Stickel Photography for sharing these photos with us!

I swear, Emily has the greatest grin!  Check these girls out.  They each picked out their own white dress and designed their own bouquets.  It all came together so great!

Emily attached this family brooch to her bouquet.

Isn’t this brooch so sweet!?!?!  Coming to the studio to help put together her flowers, mean Emily got to pick exactly what flowers she wanted to use in her bouquet…perfect for any bride that wants to do their own flowers, but just needs the space and a little guidance.

All the bouquets, lined up, looking pretty!

This shot doesn’t include flowers…but seriously, who could resist these two!?  Look at how excited she is!

Emily had all these great DIY ideas that she came up with, to make her wedding personal and special.  Instead of a guest book, each guest wrote a little message on a jenga piece.  So cute!

All of the tables were covered with red and white checked tablecloths.  Emily provided all of the pitchers for the centerpieces, and her and her friends/family helped put all of the flowers together in them.

Another pretty centerpiece, didn’t they do a great job?!?!

She even painted these mason jars!

Love this cake topper!

Spread the word, our DIY parties are so much fun and are getting so popular.  This is a great idea, not only for brides, but for bridal showers, baby showers, etc. Let us know if you are interested, dawn@agardenpartyllc.com.

Jersey Shore Wedding Florist: Janine and Guy at One AtlanticBy: Mary Coombs

I can not believe September is almost here!  The kids are getting ready to head back to school….and more importantly, we have LOTS of fall weddings that are literally right around the corner!  I have been enjoying this summer.  We took a week at the beach to relax, and there were numerous other trips to the beach to set up weddings.  Janine and Guy’s wedding was my first experience setting up a wedding at One Atlantic, and WOW.  That place is amazing.  It is hard not to enjoy your job with views of the ocean out every window! I can’t wait until we get to go back there!  To sweeten the deal even more, the photographer for Janine and Guy’s wedding was the ever amazing Tami Melissa.  I was beyond thrilled when she shared these images with us!

How adorable are these blue little numbers that the bridesmaids are wearing?!?!?  The girls carried bouquets of all white mini callas, simple and sophisticated.

Janine carried a bouquet of white and blue hydrangea, white and blue delphinium, white mini callas, and mini blue hyacinth.

The hyacinth was a last minute addition…and I think it made the bouquet!  Also, check out that little bow detail we did with the ribbon wrap <3

STUNNING bride!

One Atlantic has this beautiful canopy set up in the ceremony room, which made our job so much easier.  We simply accented with ivory pedestals topped with blinged out vases of white dendrobium orchids.

We draped the front of the head table with this crystal garland, and then accented the garland with white dendrobium orchids.

Our Diana candleholders lined the back of the place card table just perfectly.

We assembled all of the centerpieces on site in this square glass vase. White dendrobium orchids were submerged in the vase and a mass of orchids spray out the top.  Of course, we had to accent the vase with a wide band of bling!

The blue lighting added the perfect touch!

Thank you Janine and Guy for letting us be a part of your day.  We love experiencing new venues and setting up at One Atlantic was amazing! Thanks again Tami for sharing these pictures with us!

South Jersey Wedding Florist: Colleen & Brian at The Carriage HouseBy: Mary Coombs

Whew – the last few weeks have been a whirlwind of weddings!  I hope you have been following us on facebook, as we have been posting lots of new pics lately.  Today’s wedding took place in June at The Carriage House in Galloway and T Alimario caught some amazing photos of the day…we love working with T!  Colleen and Brian were such a great couple to work with.  We met with Colleen a couple of times throughout the wedding planning process, and I love how it all came together in the end.  Working at The Carriage House was a joy.  The staff was so helpful and it is gorgeous there. I have been dying to show of some pictures of our wax luminaries used as centerpieces and once I saw these photos, I knew they would be the perfect photos to show how the luminaries can be utilized as a centerpiece option.

I had to lead off with this adorable picture of this pretty little flower girl holding her flower girl wand.  Even without a smile, this photo is so precious!

We used orange mokara orchids on the bouts.  They are the perfect size.

Colleen’s bouquet was sooo striking.  We used orange gerber daisies, yves piagat garden roses, orange mokara orchids, and orange celosia.  The bouquet was trimmed with ostrich feather trim and a white lace overlay on tiffany blue satin.

How amazing is this photo!  I love that long veil!

The pews were accented with ribbon, starfish, and raffia.  The bride had these all assembled ahead of time and they added the perfect touch to her ceremony.

Our large wax luminary was filled with garden roses, mokara orchids, and manzanita branches to accent the foyer table at The Carriage House.  Hanging tiffany blue crystals and a coordinating touch of ribbon completed the look.

On the mantles a few rose petals, square pillar candles, and photos were all that was needed.

Half of the tables were done with a trio of these small square wax luminaries.  Look at how they glow when an LED is placed inside!  White hydrangea, orange gerber daisies, and the yves piagat garden roses were used.  An accent of tiffany blue ribbon on each luminary tied it all together.

The other half of the tables were done in our medium sized luminary with dark brown manzanita branches, orange and pink roses, hanging votives, and hanging mirrored strands. I love how these luminaries glow once an LED is place inside.  We can do any color LED, to coordinate with your event.

The Carriage House pastry chef decorated the cake, and even incorporated little LED’s underneath of the flowers. So pretty!

Thank you Colleen and Brian for working with us!  Your wedding was so much fun, and so different from anything we had done before.  We love trying new things, and I think these luminaries are going to become a hot item with our upcoming brides.  Thanks T Alimario for the awesome photos!

Avalon Wedding Florist: Kerri and Jake at The Avalon Yacht ClubBy: Mary Coombs

This cloudy, rainy day needs some brightening up, so I decided to share this gorgeous spring wedding from this past April.  Jake and Kerri were married on a pretty, sunny day in April at Maris Stella Church in Avalon, with their reception following at The Avalon Yacht Club.  They worked with Caitlin from Just Be the Bride, a wedding planner that we adore working with. Rebecca Watkins did a fabulous job with the photos, and even got them published on Un-jersey Bride!

Kerri carried a stunning bouquet of all pink peonies.  We mixed Sarah Bernhardt and Alex Fleming peonies, and added just a touch of maidenhair fern to create this pretty bouquet.

The bridesmaids carried complimenting bouquets of light pink peonies, pink tulips, pink hyacinth (love!), and maidenhair fern.

I LOVED all the potted plants in this church.  They looked amazing and were perfect for this spring wedding.

The bridesmaids wore this springy shade of green called clover.  I loved the gowns, and the pink flowers against them.

 Such a sweet couple!

In the entryway of the Yacht Club we did this manzanita tree with hanging pink crystals and pink peonies in the branches.  Kerri had pictures of her Jake, which we added to the tree.  This is a great way to show off those engagement pictures at your wedding!

Half of the tables were done with lanterns that Kerri had, and flowering cherry branches.  The branches and cherry blossoms looked so pretty nestled among the lanterns.  We also added our crystal votives with a pink LED to add that touch of glamour to the tables.

The sweetheart table featured our Diana candle holders with sand and a pillar candle.  Crystals votives and pink rose petals completed the table.  The two large pieces from the ceremony were transported to the Yacht Club and used to flank the head table.  Check out the cute “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs hanging behind them!

Here is a close up shot of the Diana candle holders with the sand and pillar candles.  So simple and pretty!

Each table had these little books to be passed around so guests could leave a note for the couple to read on their anniversary.  Such a creative idea!

Thank you Kerri and Jake for letting us be a part of your wedding day.  Everything was so pretty and I loved how it all came together!  Congrats!!!

South Jersey Wedding Florist: Running Deer Golf Club WeddingBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I spent last week down at the shore with our family (yes, we even vacation together!) and while the break was amazing, I am glad to be back!  It is always nice to have that time to relax….we both came into the office this morning completely refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the wedding season.  I am excited to blog about this wedding….not only because Melissa was one of my favorite brides, but also because the flowers are so pretty!  Melissa, and her adorable husband, participated in our Rock the Dress photo shoot that we did last summer and lately I have been stalking her facebook checking out the pictures of their gorgeous new baby girl. We always love working at Running Deer and will actually be headed there this Saturday for Julianne’s pretty pink wedding.

Melissa’s favorite flowers are daisies so we, of course, made sure we incorporated them into her bouquet. We also used yellow dahlias, lavender stock, and silver brunia berries.  A vintage lavender hanky that belonged to her grandmother was tied around the stems.

I love this shot of the flowers in the center of the ballroom floor!

How cute are these bridesmaids!  I loved the varying shades of purple dresses and the one floral printed dress is so cute!  They carried bouquets of lavender stock, lavender dahlias, yellow mums, and silver brunia berries.

We added lavender rhinestone pins to the daisies in Melissa’s bouquet for that perfect touch of shimmer.

I loved this yellow bout against the grey tux.

Interesting story about their ceremony.  Everything was set up outside and ready to go…the sun was shining and the weather was gorgeous.  Suddenly a thunderstorm blew in and the amazing staff at Running Deer quickly moved everything inside.  Here are the shepherds hooks with hanging vases of purple hydrangea lining the aisle – outside.

And here they are moved inside!  Just goes to show that either way, inside or out, your wedding ceremony will be beautiful!

I am in love with these cute little lavender votive cups.  We lined these along the front of the head table…with a few daisies to accent.  These votives are available for rent (we have lots of colored votive options).

A single daisy was tucked into each napkin.

The centerpieces were a trio of square vases accented with lavender ribbon and a yellow daisy.  The vases held lavender stock, dahlias, and hydrangea.

Check out these cute purple bud vases!  Also available for rent.

The Sweet Life Bakery did an amazing job with the cake.  I love the pop of yellow against the white!

Thanks Melissa for sharing all of these amazing pictures with us.  You were a gorgeous bride and we loved working with you!  Congrats on your new baby girl!

South Jersey Wedding Florist: Katy & Bob at the Camden County BoathouseBy: Mary Coombs

Happy 4th of July everyone!  I am up nice and early this morning, before my kids even….which means I have some time to squeeze in a little work before we hit the parade.  I am kind of in love with these photos from the talented JPG Photography.  You can see even more photos over on their BLOG.  Katie and Bob had their reception at the always gorgeous Camden County Boathouse last October.  Katie wanted a natural wildflower feel to her flowers, one of my favorite styles of design.

Her bouquet consisted of ivory dahlias, peach gladiola blossoms, scabiosa stellata pods, blue thistle, ornamental raspberries (LOVED using these!), anemone, lavender, and locally grown ornamental grasses.  Katie was a stunning bride!

The textures in this bouquet were amazing.

The stems were wrapped with burlap ribbon and had an accent of champagne lace.

I love this picture!

Bob wore a bout of a scabiosa stellata pod with a touch of ornamental rasperries and blue thistle.

Great shot of the bridal party.  The bridesmaids wore blue gowns and carried bouquets of peach dahlias, scabiosa stellata, and blue thistle.

Mary accented the cake with fresh flowers to reflect the wildflower theme of this wedding.

Thank you Katie and Bob for letting us be a part of your day.  We loved working with you on your wildflower wedding!

We also wanted to let our brides and know that the shop will be closed July 14th – 22nd.  We are going to take a nice little vacation with our families before we dive back into weddings.  We are excited about all the events we are working on this summer, and fall.  Thank you so much for all of your support!

Jersey Shore Wedding Florist: Golden Inn, Avalon NJBy: Mary Coombs

We have been heading down to the shore for a lot of weddings recently and we couldn’t be happier about it! Michael at Avalon’s Golden Inn started referring us last summer as their recommended florist after we wowed him with Jenna and Drew’s wedding, our business loves that kind of growth! Side note: Drew called me a few weeks ago and ordered a 1 year wedding anniversary bouquet for Jenna, so we made a beautiful arrangement for her using the same flowers from her wedding bouquet. WHAT A NICE GUY!! Serious brownie points there. More of our groom’s should do that!

Anyway, back to Heather’s wedding….here she is looking sultry in the sand (which was about 500 degrees!). The beach ceremony takes place right over the dunes in Avalon. Ahhhh, can’t wait to be there in a few weeks for vacation.

Her bouquet featured free spirit roses, gerbers, wired gladiolus blossoms, hydrangea and starfish wrapped with lace and secured with blue crystal pins.

It really held up in the heat! It was over 100 degrees that day!

Since the guys didn’t wear jackets, we did magnetic bouts of sashaba spray roses and starfish. How fresh!

The bright aqua dresses were so summery and pretty!

We didn’t have great pictures of her centerpieces (always get 2 photogs and ask them to document all the details you spent months planning!), but how cute is this alstroemeria tucked in the napkin. Love little details like that.

Keep cool at the shore everyone! We will be back at the Golden Inn this Saturday for an awesomely chic wedding featuring air plants, how fun!
