New Jersey Wedding Florist: Stephanie and Andrew at The MerionBy: Mary Coombs

A Garden Party has been busy gearing up for another busy wedding season.  We just ordered our 2011 photo album, highlighting many of our 2011 weddings.  The album is due to arrive on Friday and I can’t wait to check it out! We have been meeting with lots of brides and are really excited to meet even more this Sunday at Running Deer’s Bridal Show.  Our flower delivery came this morning and I was BLOWN away by the gorgeous Italian ranunuculus that we received.  I have never see anything like it and I know that our bride that is coming to see samples this weekend is going LOVE them.  Today has been all about getting ready for Valentine’s Day, so in honor of Valentine’s Day I decided it was appropriate to blog about this gorgeous, romantic, red wedding that we did this past October at The Merion in Cinnaminson.  Cindy Guessford Photography did an amazing job with the photos and I am excited to show them off. If you need to place an order for Valentine’s Day, you can order HERE.  We offer delivery to Salem, Cumberland, and Gloucester counties.

Stephanie looked gorgeous on her wedding day! I loved her all red bouquet.  It featured red mokara orchids, red dahlias, red roses (red piano and red freedom), and red ranunculus.

We added rhinestone accents to the roses to bring in just a touch of glitter.

I have been obsessed with this diamond trim.  We used it here to bring some bling to the wrap of Stephanie’s bouquet.

Her bridesmaids carried all white bouquets, which stood out so prettily against their red dresses.  Their bouquets featured white garden roses and white dahlias.

The red mokara orchids were perfect for Andrew’s bout.

Their wedding took place inside at The Merion.  We updated the arbor that they have there by adding crystal curtains, with red orchids tied in.  We also flanked the arbor with our chic vases filled with curly willow and red James Stori Orchids.  Both of these pieces were later moved to be used as past of their reception decor.

I love how these crystal curtains looked hanging on the arbor.

To line the aisle we placed a silver tray on top of their existing pedestals and topped each with a trio of glass cylinders with submerged orchids, floating candles, and diamond trim.  These were later moved upstairs to be used in their reception.

The sweetheart table was decorated with our crystal candlesticks, crystal votive holders, scattered crystals, and scattered red orchids.

This was one of the centerpiece designs, a tall vase filled with submerged orchids, crystals, and a floating candle.  This was surrounded by the 3 shorter cylinders from the ceremony.

We used our diana candlestick trio as another centerpiece option.  They were each accented with the diamond trim, crystals and red rose petals in the water, and a floating candle.  Our crystal votive holders added some more bling to the table.

The third centerpiece was our chic vase filled with crystals, curly willow, and red James Stori Orchids.

The cake was accented with the same diamond trim and red flowers.

Thank you Stephanie and Andrew for letting us be a part of your special day!  We loved your romantic, red wedding, and hope you did too!  Hope you have a fabulous first Valentine’s Day as Mr. and Mrs, xoxo!

Pittsgrove, NJ Florist: Jessica & Nick at Running Deer Golf ClubBy: Mary Coombs

Spring is finally here….can you believe this weather!!!  Mary and I were so excited about this weather that we both decided to work from home today…which means we can squeeze in some play time with Lee and Leah!  We have a fabulous wedding this coming weekend (can’t wait to see how it all comes out and share that one with you all!), so we decided to enjoy the weather and some time with our little ones today.  I had to take some time to share this wedding from this past December with you though.  I LOVED this couple, their flowers, and everything about their wedding.  When I heard Mary was meeting with Nick, a friend of her’s from way back, and his fiance Jessica, I was excited.  Then Mary told me they were getting married in December and wanted to use lots of cranberry accents and I was ecstatic.  I love a bride that is willing to think outside the box of just using flowers for her wedding.  This wedding was full of vivid red, with touches of black and ivory.  For a December wedding this color scheme is perfect…and it doesn’t come off as Christmasy if done right.  Jess and Nick were married at Running Deer Golf Club in Pittsgrove, NJ on December 10th, 2010.  I love meeting new photographers and Kim and Ray with KGM Expressions did not disappoint…the photos were simply stunning.

Jessica’s bouquet was gorgeous. We used red anemone, red gerber daisies, red peonies (LOVE), red intuition roses, hypericum, and a touch of seeded eucalyptus.  Of course we had to add just a touch of bling with some rhinestone pins.

Jessica was a beautiful bride.  The flower girl carried a pomander of red spray roses accented with some black satin ribbon and a few crystals.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of coordinating flowers.  The red bouquets photographed amazing against their black gowns.  I love their pearl necklaces!

Running Deer has this firepit outside now and it is the perfect spot for a picture.  I am so glad that Nick and Jessica weren’t afraid to venture outside for this photo…even if it was December!

I love everything about this picture!

For the centerpieces we filled our tall chic vases with cranberries. To the top we added winterberry branches that we hung strands of crystals and hanging votives from. We added small cylinders around the bottom of the vase with floating candles, cranberries, and holly leaves submerged in the water. Everyone said the room looked like a wedding magazine!

I love all the candlelight in this room…so pretty!

These centerpieces were really eyecatching…I loved them!

For the sweetheart table we used a mirrored vase filled with the gerbers, roses, and candles.  A few of our luminaries flanked the centerpiece.  The room looked gorgeous.

The cake was so pretty.  It was accented with black velvet ribbon, gerber daisies, and winterberry.

To Nick and Jess, we wish you all the best! You two are a perfect match <3 Nick, you better pinch yourself daily because you found someone that always laughs withyou, not at you :) Love you both! xoxo-Mary

Jersey Shore Wedding Florist – Casey & Travis at The Chelsea Hotel, Atlantic CityBy: Mary Coombs

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!!  I have been digging my way out…not the snow (that is the hubby’s job), but digging my way out of the sea of presents my two lucky little girls got.  A few days ago one of our sweetest brides of the year e-mailed us these pictures and I couldn’t wait any longer to share them. Casey and Travis were truly such a gorgeous couple and so sweet to boot!  I remember delivering this wedding, it really stood out to me because it was one week after my grandfather passed away and I found so much peace in working on this wedding.  It reminded us both that Poppop was so happy that we were pursuing our dream job. I loved the flowers, I loved working at The Chelsea, and I loved seeing the joy on Casey and her mom’s faces when we delivered the bouquets. Doing this wedding was healing to me…and that is a true testament to how much I love this job. This was the first time we had done a wedding at The Chelsea Hotel in Atlantic City and I was blown away, not only by the beauty of the hotel but by how kind and helpful the staff was. It was a pleasure to work with them and I really look forward to doing more weddings there. I would highly recommend The Chelsea to any bride that is looking for a wedding reception at the Jersey Shore. It was modern, the staff really went above and beyond to make every detail perfect, and you just can’t beat the location and vibe! Ryan Morey of RHM Photography was the photographer for the day and I am in awe of some of the amazing photos he got of the day.

I love a fun color palette like this one. Casey’s bridesmaids wore watermelon pink gowns so we did lots of yellow with accents of the pink, white and black to keep it modern. The bride’s bouquet featured yellow mini calla lilies, anemone, succulents, yellow freesia, white dahlias, craspedia, yellow roses and pink spray roses.

Another close up of Casey’s bouquet.  I loved all the shapes and textures in this bouquet. We accented her bouquet wrap with the lace from her mother’s gown, a very meaningful touch.

Casey and her bridesmaids on the boardwalk.  I have no idea how the photographer did it but I love colors in this photo.

Such a beautiful group of girls!

Casey and Travis, aren’t they a cute couple!

Close up of Travis’s boutonniere.  Craspedia, freesia, and a small succulent made the perfect bout.

On the beach…this looks like a painting!  LOVE.

Pictures like this would make any bride want a beach wedding.

Casey and Travis were married in a church but wanted to bring in some of the fun color aspects of their day.  We did these pomanders of yellow button mums and pink pearl pins to hang on every other pew.

Look how cute it turned out!!!

At the reception we were so excited to use these tall black vases.  We added a crystal chandelier and dozens of yellow oncidium orchids…the final look was stunning!

Love these orchids in this room!

For the other centerpiece style we used our shorter black vases filled with yellow roses and yellow spider mums.  We linked the vases together with bear grass and added some watermelon pink ribbon and of course a touch of bling.  I love spider mums, they are not often thought of for wedding flowers but they can looking so modern when used in mass like this.

Here is a shot of the yellow roses showing the vase accented with the pink ribbon and a rhinestone.

The pomanders from the church were brought back to the reception and placed on these silver platters to decorate the bar and cocktail tables.

One final shot off the overall room. Again I can not say enough good things about The Chelsea, this hotel really is stunning!

Casey and Travis – thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wedding day.  We truly enjoyed every aspect of your wedding and wish the both of you all the best in your future together.  We are so grateful for all of the kind recommendations you are sending our way too, keep ‘em coming! High fives to Ryan from RHM Photography for a job well done too!

Mary and I are so excited about the New Year and everything to come….2010 has been an awesome year for us, a year of great professional and personal growth, but I can’t help but wonder what 2011 will bring us?!?!?! Stay tuned to see what the future holds….we wish all of our readers a bountiful, beautiful and blooming 2011!

Top of the Tower, Philadelphia Wedding Florist: Tina & JeremyBy: Mary Coombs

I am sooooo excited to share this wedding today. Any one that has read our blog before has read about Tina. She is a great friend of ours and a truly talented photographer based out of Philly. She has photographed many weddings that we have done, and has even done personal photo shoots of our kids (they love her too!).  When Tina and Jeremy got engaged we knew that their wedding would be one to remember; they know how to have a good time! Tina hired fellow photographer, Jamie Delaine as her wedding photographer (she flew in from Vancouver Canada for the wedding!) and I was beyond thrilled to see the shots that Jamie caught of Tina and Jeremy’s wedding day.  Tina knew she wanted a modern wedding with some traditional touches.  This is a couple that LOVES Philadelphia, Jeremy even popped the big question right in Rittenhouse Square, so it was no surprise when Tina picked Top of the Tower for their wedding to take place.  We used phalaenopsis orchids (we always love an excuse get our hands on these), limes, dahlias, and lots of fun little details to make Tina’s day extra special.

We knew Tina would be a gorgeous bride so we had better make a bouquet to match.  I think Mary nailed it with this all white bouquet.  She used dahlias, white polo roses, ranunculus, parrot tulips, brunia berries, maidenhair fern and stephanotis with a rhinestone accent.  We wrapped the bouquet with ivory satin and champagne lace.  A crystal brooch completed it (LOVE!). When ordering her bouquet, Tina said “I want it to be so big that I can barely fit my hands around it!” OUR KINDA GAL!

Tina sure made for one HOT bride!  STUNNING!!!

Finding the lace for this bouquet took me hours…I think it was totally worth it.

Since their wedding didn’t take place at a church, we helped define the aisle with these lanterns.  A green cymbidium orchid tucked in the top of these lanterns and a scattering of rose petals were all it took to make their ceremony room glow.

To create a backdrop behind the couple as they said their vows we used our pillars filled with curly willow, phalaenopsis orchids, crystals, and hanging mirrors.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of green cymbidium orchids, parrot tulips, green trachelium, brunia berries, and maidenhair fern.  All the green looked so pretty against their black dresses, but seriously, the flowers can’t compete with these beauties!

Check out this adorable vase we used for their cocktail tables.  We are able to slide in a picture, so Tina gave us a bunch of her engagement pictures to use.  What a great way to get some more use of your engagement photos!  A mound of white dahlias made this the perfect size for the cocktail tables.

For the place card table we covered the table with wheat grass and then added bells of Ireland, ranunculus, maidenhair fern, and cymbidium orchids.  The cards were nestled among the flowers – so cute!

The cake was decorated with bells of irelend and cymbidium orchids – totally modern and gorgeous!

We did not want to compete with the jaw-dropping view at Top of the Tower’s reception room, so we decided to keep the centerpieces simple. We filled our chic vases with limes (the perfect shade of green) and had stems of phalaenopsis orchids cascading from the top of the vase.  We added a band of black ribbon with a rhinestone brooch to the top, and placed a single flower at every place setting. Only the best for our Tina!

Totally amazing!

I love, love, love these orchids!

Tina and Jeremy, you two are such a sweet couple and we really enjoyed doing your wedding flowers and being a part of your day.  Best wishes to both of you on your future together!!! XOXO <3

South Jersey Wedding Florist – Scotland RunBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I have been sooooo wonderfully busy! Sorry we are behind on our blogging, we have quite a few weddings that I have been wanting to blog about…it is just finding the time! A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of doing wedding flowers for Taralynn and Jim. Taralynn was such a sweet bride, she was so excited on her wedding day and actually teared up when she saw her flowers <3 They were married at Scotland Run in Williamstown, NJ. They had an outdoor ceremony (Scotland Run has some fantastic landscaping), and were lucky enough to have some gorgeous weather. As usual T Alimario completely blew me away with his pictures of the day, I really can’t say enough good things about him. Check out the pictures and see for yourself!

Taralynn’s bouquet was all calla lilies, accented with purple beaded wire.

The bridesmaids carried coordinating bouquets of calla lilies and lavender roses, accented with black beaded wire.

Her mom carried a small nosegay of calla lilies, a great alternative to a corsage.

I LOVE this picture – look at how sweet this little flower girl looks with her pomander!

A calla lily boutonniere accented with ivory ribbon.

Large white urns filled with delphinium, hydrangea, and roses flanked the couple during the ceremony.

Taralynn had these adorable little bird place cards for her place card table.  We made ‘trees’ for the birds to sit in and accented with fresh flowers.  Soooo cute!

Here is our silver birdcage.  This is a popular rental item.  For Taralynn we accented it with black ostrich feather trim and satin ribbon.

We dressed up the cake with hydrangea and delphinium florets.

Congratulations Taralynn and Jim!  Your day was gorgeous and we were so honored to be a part of it.

Southern NJ Wedding Florist: Liz & DaveBy: Mary Coombs

Congrats to the newlyweds! A few weeks ago, Dawn and I were a part of Liz’s wedding day in Swedesboro NJ and we just got the professional pictures back and couldn’t wait to share them with you. Liz’s photographer, Michelle La Brake (call 267.978.6043 for info) did a fabulous job capturing some great flower shots for us, thanks so much Michelle! The lovely Liz was keeping it classy with a black and white theme (I told ya it was popular!) and she fell in LOVE with the look of hot pink “but not fluorescent 80′s hot pink” (direct quote from Liz) against the black dresses. We used a few shades of pink to give it some dimension, lighter pink peonies and bright pink Hot Princess roses. What a classic and beautiful combo!

A Garden Party was happy to create these bouquets for her wedding day!

Peonies, roses and the invite….so pretty!

Delicate stephanotis are accented with rhinestones, we do a lot of this and it never gets old!!

He bouquet was wrapped with a family heirloom handkerchief, a thoughtful touch!

I think this was taken on her front porch, how cute!

The pink really lightens it up!

The whole gang…

Ta da! The highly anticipated cake (I don't know about you, but that is the best part about a wedding! Oh well that and the whole love for eternity thing too.)

Thank you Liz for hiring us to be a part of your wedding day, it was a pleasure! Especially because you picked one of my favorite flowers, peonies! Drive by my house and admire them all blooming (what is left after my harvesting, anyway). We wish you all the best…and tell your hubby to plant a peony for you so he can cut a bouquet for your anniversary every year <3

Maria’s Marvelous Wedding at The Merion (Cinnaminson, NJ)By: Mary Coombs

I am going to try to capture each bride and each wedding in a few words from now on….for Maria and her April 10 2010 wedding, I shall use “simply chic”. Thanks to her black and ivory color scheme (the hottest wedding trend now) and her desire for elegant, formal yet simple floral designs, that is what she got! The ceremony was held at Haddonfield United Methodist Church (WOW) and the reception was at The Merion, in Cinnaminson NJ (one of our favs!!). Her sister, Michelle of All Things Beautiful Wedding Planning served as her coordinator and it was great to work with her again. We first met Michelle at Tiffanie’s wedding last fall and we must have won her over! This wedding was a hit in my book for several reasons, let me count the ways.

1. Sisters are a funny bunch to work with (believe me, I know!) because the personalities are so different yet complimentary, which was certainly the case with Maria and Michelle. Loved em!

2. Upon delivery of her bridal bouquet, Maria was getting her hair and makeup done while her sweet dad took it all in. He asked her if she was going to wear a veil. Maria quickly replied, “There is no veil, the hair is the veil.” That was seriosuly the funniest thing to overhear, check out the pics, it is true! Her hair was totally veil like!

3. We never know what we are about to encounter while delivering at the reception hall. Thankfully The Merion welcomed us with a perfectly ready room and even some entertainment! There was a school fraternity that was using the room as a place for pictures and dance practice, it was the most entertaining set up of all time! They were great dancers!

4. I fell in love with our bell vases again <3

Check out the beautiful pictures from Joseph Clementi Photography (and a few from our own camera mixed in!). Thanks so much for sending them to us Joe!  Without further ado, I present Maria and Craig’s Marvelous Wedding….

Maria
See what I mean about the hair/veil comment! Jealous!

Not that we had anything to do with it, but I loved her favors! Wawa coffee and the newspaper! Something tells me Michelle had her hand in this…
Well, I would love to add another pic of the beautiful bridesmaids in their lovely black gowns, but my comp is being insane and I am giving up! Use your imagination haha. I will try it again later. Oh technology!

Little black dress…By: Mary Coombs

A few weeks ago Mary and I got to use some gorgeous colors for a very fun wedding. Michelle’s bridesmaids were wearing black dresses and she wanted bouquets with lots of color that would really pop. I think we accomplished the look she was going for!  Michelle got married at the Adventure Aquarium, http://www.adventureaquarium.com/cateredevents.cfm; what a great idea for a reception venue! I am sure the party was fabulous. Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day Michelle!

Check this bouquet out! We used pink dahlias, roses, gloriosa lilies, and a ring of artemsia.

We LOVED the gloriosa lilies....the texture of them against the dahlias and roses was amazing!
