Kristen’s bouquet featured one of my favorite roses, the pink esperance rose. This rose has shades of pink, ivory, and green; and it opens beautifully.  We also used light pink dahlias, pink waxflower, pink ranunculus, queen anne’s lace, and nerine lilies.  Originally Kristen wanted an all peony bouquet, but peonies can be hard to get and questionable quality in October.  When we called her and offered our suggestions, she was so laid back and flexible.  She loved her bouquet and personally it turned out to be one of my favorite pink bouquets that we have ever done.

It was such a gorgeous, sunny day.  The stems of her bouquet were wrapped with burlap ribbon and a lace overlay.

The bridesmaids wore watermelon gowns and carried bouquets of similar flowers, with ivory dahlias added.

The groom and groomsmen all wore baby’s breath bouts, wrapped in twine.

The flowers girls were adorable.  They carried kissing balls of pink spray roses.

This is our lace canopy, which is a rental item.  This canopy is ideal for outside, or inside ceremonies. It looked gorgeous, and went perfectly, with Kristen’s theme.  We tied back the lace with raffia, but this can be customized for your wedding.

Sweet “In Loving Memory” table.  A mason jar of lilies and snapdragons was just enough to accent.

The Golden Inn usually has a mix of long tables and round tables.  For the long tables we did mason jars with assorted flowers accented with lace and twine.  Each of the napkins was tied with a little piece of twine (little details like this really do help it all come together).

This mason jar of baby’s breath, nerine lilies, and lisianthus is so sweet!

The room all set up is so pretty.  The Golden Inn is one of our favorite beach venues to work at.  If you are looking for a beach wedding be sure to give them a call (ask for Michael, he is the best!).

I don’t know about you, but I am so excited for spring (and warm weather) to hit.  We are gearing up for a busy spring wedding season here and can’t wait to share it with our readers on the blog!

On this overcast, windswept day, I couldn’t resist blogging about this bright, sunny wedding from September.  I figured everyone could use a little sunshine today (plus it kinda reminds me of Miami)!  Carey and Brad were married at Scotland Run Golf Course on a gorgeous September day and thanks to Dazzle Photography, we all get to enjoy their photos.

Yellow is one of my favorite flower colors, and not used too often. We had so much fun with Carey’s bouquet.  The bouquet featured white stock, white gerber daisies, yellow craspedia, yellow babe spray roses, yellow roses, and silver artemesia.

Check out these cool dudes with the gorgeous Carey.  The groomsmen wore bouts of yellow gerber daisies and artemesia, wrapped with silver satin.

The bridesmaid wore gray gowns (love gray and yellow together!) and carried bouquets of all yellow gerber daisies.

 The cocktail tables were accented with these adorable mason jars filled with lemons and white stock.  The flower shop smelled amazing the night we sliced all these lemons up for this wedding!

The guests’ tables were accented with trio of mason jars, all filled with lemons, and topped with white flowers.

Torey (A Garden Party’s newest designer) did an amazing job with the cake. I loved the stream of yellow roses and solidago running from the top, across the front of the cake.  Gorgeous.

Vintage, large, jars filled with gerbers and solidago lined the aisle, and were then moved to accent the reception space.

I love creative place card table displays.  Here we used a bed of moss to place painted rocks on, and then scattered daisies.  So cute!

Lindsay carried a bouquet of dark purple and magenta flowers including baronesse garden roses, magenta stock, purple glad blossoms, dark purple lisianthus, and magenta gomphrena. The garden roses were accented with diamond pins. Don’t they have the best smiles!?!?!

Lindsay loved bling so we incorporated it as much as possible; even doing Jim’s bout in a rhinestone encrusted bout holder.

I thought these flowers girls were just adorable.  Check out their dresses!

Another amazing shot.  The sky in this picture is breathtaking.

I loved how the place card table came out. Lindsay had these silver manzanita trees, so we accented one by placing it in a decorate silver mercury vase.  We added a fuchsia sash and hung our crystal votives holders filled with flowers from the branches.  I loved the cards radiating out from the center.  This is a perfect design for a round table like this.

The room looking gorgeous.  The linens really helped pull it all together and, along with the flowers, set the tone of the event.

Half of the tables were done with our silver mercury glass filled with purple stock, purple hydrangea, and magenta garden roses. Crystal votive holders added another touch of bling to the tables.

The other half of the tables were done with bleached beach grasses and purple and magenta stock in our tall silver vases.  Magenta rose petals and the crystal votive holders completed the look.

I love little touches like this.  A gladiola blossom was placed on each napkin for all of the guests.  Gorgeous!

The sweetheart table was draped with crystals and silver mercury candle holders.  Love!

This has nothing to do with flowers but I am obessed with boardwalk pizza….especially at a wedding!

The wedding cake was stunning!  I love when brides choose to do fresh flowers on the top, instead of a cake topper.  So pretty!

I had to lead off with this adorable picture of this pretty little flower girl holding her flower girl wand.  Even without a smile, this photo is so precious!

 We used orange mokara orchids on the bouts.  They are the perfect size.

Colleen’s bouquet was sooo striking.  We used orange gerber daisies, yves piagat garden roses, orange mokara orchids, and orange celosia.  The bouquet was trimmed with ostrich feather trim and a white lace overlay on tiffany blue satin.

How amazing is this photo!  I love that long veil!

The pews were accented with ribbon, starfish, and raffia.  The bride had these all assembled ahead of time and they added the perfect touch to her ceremony.

Our large wax luminary was filled with garden roses, mokara orchids, and manzanita branches to accent the foyer table at The Carriage House.  Hanging tiffany blue crystals and a coordinating touch of ribbon completed the look.

On the mantles a few rose petals, square pillar candles, and photos were all that was needed.

Half of the tables were done with a trio of these small square wax luminaries.  Look at how they glow when an LED is placed inside!  White hydrangea, orange gerber daisies, and the yves piagat garden roses were used.  An accent of tiffany blue ribbon on each luminary tied it all together.

The other half of the tables were done in our medium sized luminary with dark brown manzanita branches, orange and pink roses, hanging votives, and hanging mirrored strands. I love how these luminaries glow once an LED is place inside.  We can do any color LED, to coordinate with your event.

The Carriage House pastry chef decorated the cake, and even incorporated little LED’s underneath of the flowers. So pretty!

Thank you Colleen and Brian for working with us!  Your wedding was so much fun, and so different from anything we had done before.  We love trying new things, and I think these luminaries are going to become a hot item with our upcoming brides.  Thanks T Alimario for the awesome photos!

Today I want to share a stunning wedding that we did in February.  Leigh Anne was a gorgeous bride and I have been dying to show off these pictures.  Leigh Anne and Anthony’s wedding took place at The Westin in Mount Laurel.  Their wedding was an elegant black and white affair with touches of blush pink, lots of crystals, ostrich feathers, and candlelight.  I always love setting up at The Westin because we usually stay to flip the room after the ceremony, which means I get to hide out and hear the bride and groom’s wedding ceremony   Dan Lerro Photography did an amazing job with the photos, check them out for yourself.

Mary did an amazing job with Leigh Anne’s bouquet.  The bouquet featured white peonies, tulips, anemone, cascading white phalaenopsis orchids, strands of blush pink hyacinth florets, and rhinestone studded lily grass and stephanotis.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of white peonies, tulips, and anemone.  The junior bridesmaids carried kissing balls of white spray roses. I love that each of the bridesmaids wore a black dress of their choice and the black fur wrap on the flower girl is just darling!

Many times we are set up and gone long before the bride arrives to check out the venue.  However, I had the chance to witness Leigh Anne checking out the room prior to the ceremony, and it is moments like this that make this job so worthwhile.  Seeing her walk down the aisle and the smile on her face was priceless.  We lined the aisle with our wax luminaries filled with blush pink ostrich feathers.  The luminaries cast the perfect glow and are ideal for lining an aisle.

On the place card table I used more luminaries filled with white hydrangea, ivory roses, champagne spray roses, and black ostrich feathers.

Here is a close up of the wax luminaries used to line the aisle.  I love the feathers!

Half of the tables were done with tall square glass vases accented with a wide band of rhinestone trim.  In the vase we submerged white hydrangea and floated a candle.  Smaller square wax luminaries accented the tall vase.

I was obsessed with this centerpiece.  This was the first time that we used the wax luminaries with a square floral design and I LOVED how it turned out.  The luminaries that lined the aisle were moved after the ceremony and placed in the center of the square floral design.  We used white hydrangea, white football mums, ivory roses, and spray roses.

I love using scatter crystals…check them out decorating the cake table.

An Elegant, Long-sleeved Dress

Bella looked beautiful as she walked down the aisle in a long-sleeved, lace -back dress designed by Carolina Herrera. Alfred Angelo has designed a replica of the gown that only costs $799. The long sleeves and cut-out lace back are elegant, classic and beautiful. This gown would be perfect for a fall, winter or church wedding.

Host the Wedding at Home

The ceremony and reception took place at the Cullen home. The setting made the wedding personal and unique. This is a simple idea that anyone can use and personalize. Consider your parents’ homes, family members’ homes or even close friends’ homes. Some fun possibilities include beach houses, lake view homes and family farms.

Use Tons of Flowers

The most breath-taking part of the Breaking Dawn wedding was the flowers. According to Blooming Envy LLC, the ceremony took place under 160,000 white wisteria that cascaded down from trees, and the aisle was lined with arrangements consisting of delphiniums, sweet pea, viburnum, ranunculus, Australian ferns and moss. The ceremony flowers also featured cherry blossoms and white lavender. The flowers set the tone of the wedding and provide a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony.

Decorate the Cake with Flowers

At the reception, Bella and Edward’s cake was decorated with roses, viburnum and sweet pea. The flowers make a simple cake extravagant.

 Her bouquet was a variety of purple flowers including picasso calla lilies, stock, alstroemeria and orchids.

I love the bridesmaids’ pistachio gowns! The purple bouquets look great against the green.  The girls carried bouquets of purple stock and green gladiola blooms.  Gladiola are one of my favorite flowers!

The flowers looked beautiful on this elegant cake. We used purple orchids, dark purple stock, purple gladiola blooms, and green button mums to coordinate with the bridal party flowers and dresses.

You can use flowers in a variety of ways on your cake, here are some examples of varying styles that the sisters have done. 

You can place flowers on top and down the layers of your cake like Alison and Fred.

You can place flowers, gerbers in this case, sporadically around the cake like Brynn and Drew.

You can do a pretty diagonal line across the entire cake like Tina and Jeremy.

You can put flowers in between the layers.

You can scatter petals around the bottom of the cake, as you can see here around Dominique and Glenn’s cake.

Cake Decorating Tips:

·         Design your cake with flowers in mind. You don’t want the flowers to look like an afterthought. Send a cake sketch to your florist to keep them in the loop! A nice inspirational photo never hurt anyone

·         White or cream-colored icing looks great any color flowers, but don’t be afraid to experiment with other colors. Let your baker do their thing; dare to be different!

·         Choose flowers that coordinate with the flowers used in your centerpieces and bouquets. You want everything to work together seamlessly.

·         Prepping and storing flowers can be challenging. You may want to let your florist handle this task. We have had experiences where the bakery is in charge of getting coordinating flowers, and that NEVER goes well. If the baker wants to decorate the cake, just let us know what time to have the loose flowers at the venue.
