South Jersey Wedding Florist: Carey and Brad at Scotland RunBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I took advantage of no weddings last weekend and went to Miami with friends.  It was the perfect break and proved that we do know how to have fun after all, ha!  We love weddings, but have to admit, it can really put a damper on our social life when ever single weekend is full of work.  We figured we better fit in some fun time while we can.  Pretty soon, we will be back to creating floral magic every weekend.

On this overcast, windswept day, I couldn’t resist blogging about this bright, sunny wedding from September.  I figured everyone could use a little sunshine today (plus it kinda reminds me of Miami)!  Carey and Brad were married at Scotland Run Golf Course on a gorgeous September day and thanks to Dazzle Photography, we all get to enjoy their photos.

Yellow is one of my favorite flower colors, and not used too often. We had so much fun with Carey’s bouquet.  The bouquet featured white stock, white gerber daisies, yellow craspedia, yellow babe spray roses, yellow roses, and silver artemesia.

Check out these cool dudes with the gorgeous Carey.  The groomsmen wore bouts of yellow gerber daisies and artemesia, wrapped with silver satin.

The bridesmaid wore gray gowns (love gray and yellow together!) and carried bouquets of all yellow gerber daisies.

The cocktail tables were accented with these adorable mason jars filled with lemons and white stock.  The flower shop smelled amazing the night we sliced all these lemons up for this wedding!

The guests’ tables were accented with trio of mason jars, all filled with lemons, and topped with white flowers.

Torey (A Garden Party’s newest designer) did an amazing job with the cake. I loved the stream of yellow roses and solidago running from the top, across the front of the cake.  Gorgeous.

Vintage, large, jars filled with gerbers and solidago lined the aisle, and were then moved to accent the reception space.

I love creative place card table displays.  Here we used a bed of moss to place painted rocks on, and then scattered daisies.  So cute!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we have been stocking up on all kinds of cute things for the holiday.  Just placed my candy order with Sweet Mary’s Chocolates yesterday…the perfect addition to fresh flowers is a little box of chocolates.  Give us a call….or at least tell your boyfriend, fiance, husband to give us a call, and order something special for your someone special, 609-364-2529.  You can also place your order online, HERE.

XOXOXOXO!!!

Five Ways to Decorate Your Aisle for FallBy: Mary Coombs

After a very hot summer, fall is almost here. To kick off the season, I’d like to share five great aisle decor designs by A Garden Party. Feel free to be inspired!

These buckets are perfect for aisle arrangements.

This is my all time favorite fall aisle. The burlap, mums, and sunflowers are the perfect combination.

Sunflowers are a classic fall flower. Plus, I love mason jars.

This design is simple and beautiful.

I love how simple and elegant a single Gerber daisy looks. Plus, the brown and orange are perfect for fall.

We’d love to know, how do you plan on decorating your aisle this fall? What is your favorite fall flower?

Valleybrook Country Club Florist: Alison and FredBy: Mary Coombs

Last weekend was a fun weekend for Mary and I. We were in all of our glory with a flower shop full of wildflowers for an amazing wedding at The Southern Mansion and tons of blue and yellow (one of my fav color combos) for a gorgeous wedding at Running Deer. This week we are doing an awesome wedding at The Golden Inn, featuring flowers and VEGETABLES! I can’t wait to see how it all comes together. I am happy to report that I have lots of new and recent weddings to share with you all on the blog!  Last week one of our May brides, Alison, was kind enough to send me a photo CD from her wedding…we LOVE when our brides share their professional photos with us, thanks Alison!  Two Wedding Photographers did a great job with the pictures. Alison and Fred were married at Valleybrook Country Club in Blackwood, NJ in an outside ceremony on a beautiful May day.

Alison was such a pretty bride! She carried a bouquet of orange tulips, orange mini callas, pink mini gerbers, yellow freesia, coral spray roses, and peach hypericum berries.

We wrapped the stems with yellow satin ribbon and accented with a coral criss cross ribbon over top.

To accent the bridesmaids coral/guava dresses we used yellow mini gerbers, coral spray roses, peach hypericum, and orange mini callas.

We wrapped the bridesmaids bouquets with coral satin ribbon, accented with a yellow criss cross over top.

Aren’t thes two the cutest couple?!?!  Fred wore a boutounierre of yellow freesia and an orange calla lily wrapped with yellow satin ribbon.

undefinedAlison’s mom carried a small nosegay of yellow gerber daisies and yellow freesia.

On the place card table we placed a vase full of these gorgeous orange tulips in honor of some loved ones.  I love tulips and am so sad that tulip season is over for 2011 :(   Luckily we can order them pretty much year round from Holland!

undefined

Half of the tables had these amazing centerpieces.  We used our chic vase filled with orange tinted water.  We submerged a calla lily in the water and floated a candle on top.  We hung little bubble vases from the vase with orange wire and placed a large awesome bicolor orange and yellow gerber daisy in each vase.  It looked so cool!

The other half of the tables we used these tealight vases.  These are such a GREAT money saver!  Alison had her bridesmaids place their bouquets in these vases as soon as the ceremony was over…instant table decor!

undefined

We accented the cake with pink mini gerber daisies, coral spray roses, and peach hypericum.  So pretty!

Thank you Alison and Fred for letting us be a part of your wedding day.  We appreciate all of your referrals as well, we are so proud to build our business this way. We had so much fun with your wedding!

xoxo, Dawn and Mary

South Jersey Florist: Michelle and Greg at Lucien’s ManorBy: Mary Coombs

This morning Mary and I unpacked hundreds of flowers….it was amazing. We have the flower shopped stuffed to the brim with flowering cherry branches (that we cut ourselves!), roses (Cool Water, Esperance, and more!), hydrangea (pink, purple and white!), this amazing hot magenta colored stock, allium, yellow gerbers, phalaenopsis orchids, hyacinth, and tons more….and we have more coming tomorrow and Thursday! This is a big week for us, but we are ready and excited to tackle it :) I don’t want to let any of our blog followers down though (I know there must be some!), so I am making time to squeeze out a blog. One of the exciting things about our job is getting to know our brides. Mary and I went to high school with Michelle, so it was exciting to see her so happy on her wedding day. She was a gorgeous bride and is so in love with her hubby, Greg. They were married at Lucien’s Manor in Berlin, NJ this past November and Michelle sent me those photos courtesy of her photographer, The Pros.

Here is Michelle with her parents.  She carried a bouquet of red gerber daisies, red mini gerbers, and white hydrangea.  We added rhinestones to the center of the gerbers…we love a touch of bling!

undefined

On the pedestals at Lucian’s we filled shallow dishes with floating candles and more of the red gerbers.  We also hung the red gerbers in crystal curtains that flanked the ceremony area.

undefined

The bridesmaids carried coordinating bouquets of white gerber daisies, while the maids of honer carried bouquets of red gerbers.  They all looked so pretty!

undefined

I am in love with these crystal curtains with the gerber daisies hanging in them…it really was striking!

undefined

Check out the sparkle on those curtains!

undefined

The married couple…aren’t they cute?!?!

undefined

We didn’t have too much to do this…but I thought it was fabulous so I had to include it. I believe they made this themselves and I love how it matched the cupcake and cake toppers perfectly. So cute!!!

undefined

Congratulations Michelle and Greg.  We wish you lots of love and happiness in your future together! xoxo
