Five Ways to Decorate Your Aisle for FallBy: admin

After a very hot summer, fall is almost here. To kick off the season, I’d like to share five great aisle decor designs by A Garden Party. Feel free to be inspired!

These buckets are perfect for aisle arrangements.

This is my all time favorite fall aisle. The burlap, mums, and sunflowers are the perfect combination.

Sunflowers are a classic fall flower. Plus, I love mason jars.

This design is simple and beautiful.

I love how simple and elegant a single Gerber daisy looks. Plus, the brown and orange are perfect for fall.

We’d love to know, how do you plan on decorating your aisle this fall? What is your favorite fall flower?

South Jersey Wedding Florist: Tommy and Shannon at the Smithville Inn!By: admin

Tommy and Shannon were hands down one of my favorite weddings we have done recently.  I am a sucker for lots of purple…add to that all these gorgeous butterfly accents and it was perfection.  They got married outside at The Smithville Inn in picture perfect weather.  When Mary showed me all the details in this wedding I was so excited to see that the couple had come up with a theme (butterflies).  It is always fun to add special little details and watch it all come together in the end.  Denise Mabilog was the photographer for this wedding and she caught some gorgeous shots – check out her blog, she does amazing work! Now on to the good stuff :)

Shannon's bouquet featured picasso calla lilies, vanda orchids, lavender and ivory roses, and dark purple stock. We added sprigs of fresh lavender and this bouquet smelled amazing. We wrapped the stems with a handkerchief that Shannon provided to us (I think it was her grandmother's). Photo courtesy of Denise Mabilog Photography.

Here is a close-up shot of the bride's bouquet. If you look close you can see that we snuck in a couple of jeweled butterflies – so pretty! Photo courtesy of Denise Mabilog Photography.

For the bridesmaids we used similar flowers and accented the stems with a butterfly. I love the pops of bright green against the purple. Photo courtesy of Denise Mabilog Photography.

Shannon was such a gorgeous bride! I love this shot, these girls all look so pretty and that covered bridge is picture perfect. Photo courtesy of Denise Mabilog Photography.

They got married outside under this pergola. We added butterflies to the urns, perched on the branches and put a few in the top arbor piece. We even hung strands of white butterflies on each side <3

I loved these urns. We use our manzanita branches, hydrangea, roses, stock, and of course those butterflies!

Mary designed this piece and I have one word for it – LOVE!

This piece was featured on their seating card table. Adding a tall piece like this to the placecard table is so eye catching.

Check out the little butterflies that Shannon gave us to put on all of the wineglasses – I love these little details! Photo courtesy of Denise Mabilog Photography.

We made floral rings to go around hurricanes for half of the tables. The floral rings are a great option for brides that want to give their centerpieces away to their guests at the end of the wedding.

The other half of the tables we did these mounded silver bowl arrangements. The silver metal bowl is a rental and the arrangements are designed for guests to remove and take home. I love hydrangea; especially mixed with roses, kale, bupleurum, and butterflies. Photo courtesy of Denise Mabilog Photography.

Instead of a traditional cake topper, we decorated the top of their cake with just a few spray roses and a beaded butterfly. Photo courtesy of Denise Mabilog Photography.

Lots of pictures, but they were all too good not to share!  Congratulations to Tommy and Shannon and thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wonderful day.  July has been such a fun wedding month for us :)   This Friday we are so excited to be hosting our first annual Open House.  We hope to see you there! Contact Mary via e-mail, Mary@gardenpartysisters.com to RSVP or for details on the Open House.

Philadelphia Wedding Florist: Tara and CharlesBy: admin

Tisk, tisk, Mary has been a bad blogger! It has been a while since we featured some wedding work and I apologize. We were away on a family vacation and the beach was just too distracting! Or maybe it was the 5 kids that kept us all busy…anyway, I am happy to showcase Tara and Chuck’s wedding from June 12, 2010. These docs (yes both are doctors) wanted an intimate backyard wedding, something Tara always dreamed about. When we arrived at her childhood  home outside of Philadelphia and entered the backyard, I could tell her dreams would come true that day. A giant willow tree (I think I have to get one of these on the farm here) with a gazebo nestled underneath was the perfect place for vows and a nearby tent (with AC!!!!) was placed on lush green grass and was lit with chandeliers, I couldn’t have done it better myself. Take a look for yourself!

The photos are courtesy of John Robert Pankratz , many thanks for sharing!

Tara putting on the final touches…notice her floral hairpiece that we recreated for her. This is what she had to say about it, "they were able to take a family heirloom hairpiece and bring it back to life, literally – they revived it, reworked it, and made it like new – and it's 5 generations old!" It was our pleasure!!

This is what the hairpiece looked like when she gave it to me. What can I say, I love a challenge!

Stunning.

Her dad confided in us that he only wanted to give her everything she hoped for on her wedding day….seriously pops, you made me tear up. Tara's bouquet is composed of white mini callas and stephanotis with a vintage inspired beaded leaf collar.

Her aisle was lined with these swirled hooks with hanging vases of orchids and callas…it looked great!

Told ya that tree was awesome!

Family shot….her bridesmaid carried picasso callas to coordinate with her white callas.

A perfect DIY project….Tara made table numbers from wine bottles and found the perfect place to display family wedding photos. How thoughtful!

Centerpieces were submerged callas with floating candles, a simple and elegant mix!

I have a feeling this might be hung in their house one day.

I covet this tree.

Thank you Tara for letting us be a part of your dream come true…best wishes for a lifetime of love!

South Jersey Wedding Florist: Jenna and Mark at Running Deer Golf ClubBy: admin

A few weeks ago Mary and I had the pleasure of designing and setting up the wedding flowers for Jenna and Mark at Running Deer Golf Club in Pittsgrove, NJ. The wedding planning started months in advance as Mary searched high and low for the perfect turquoise glass beads to use as an accent for Jenna. We really love how it all came together and are so excited to share the pictures with you. Issy Schmid was kind of enough to send us these fabulous shots. Definitely check out her website and blog, she does some amazing work!

The bridesmaids wore these cute little black dresses (love these!) and carried bouquets of yellow calla lilies. The yellow really popped against the black! Jenna carried an all white bouquet of roses, lilacs, calla lilies, tulips and stephanotis….and of course we accented with some turquoise bling.

Here is a close up of Jenna's bouquet. The rhinestones in the stephanotis were gorgeous. We also wrapped her bouquet with a handkerchief that had been handed down in her family, these are the kind of little touches that we love to add.

I had to add this picture because they both looked so awesome in it. You can also see how the handkerchief was wrapped around the stems of her bouquet.

Look at this gorgeous bride!!!

As usual the set up at Running Deer went perfectly. We used our tall bell vases with a stem of yellow orchids in the bottom and a mound of white hydrangea on top. We hung the turquoise beads from the top of the centerpiece and of course sprinkled some on the table.

For the low centerpieces we used this coordinating bowl with floating orchids and candles. Look at how pretty the glass beads are on that mirror.

Jenna and Mark were married outside at Running Deer underneath their new pergola. We hung these cute little bubble vases with hydrangea from the pergola. We had some strands of the beads left and didn't want any to go to waste so we decided last minute to add them to the pergola – I think this really made it all come together.

To line the aisle we hung these adorable little daisy pomanders from shepherds hooks.

Thanks to Issy for all of the great photos.  And congrats to Jenna and Mark – we had so much fun doing this wedding!

Salem County NJ Wedding Florist: Aimee & Dan, Pratt GardensBy: admin

I love to be surprised, who doesn’t? This wedding handed me a lovely little surprise, I had NO IDEA that Pratt Gardens on County Home Road in Pilesgrove NJ even existed! And I grew up on a farm just down the road! From the looks of Aimee’s wedding photos, it was a perfect location for their outdoor ceremony and tented reception. Aimee’s wedding was a casual family affair, full of many personal touches that I just adored….I can’t even take credit for them, Aimee did all the planning! However, during our first consultation when I discovered that her fiance was a glass blower, I quickly expressed my excitement (and jealousy – I took a glass blowing class in college and phew, that stuff is harder than it looks!). I asked Dan to make some glass beads to add to our floral designs and I just LOVE what he came up with. I knew I would, so that wasn’t really a surprise haha. I was happy to design the bridal party flowers for their special day and I hope that Aimee doesn’t mind me showcasing some of her other creative gardeny ideas for all of our other brides out there. Thanks for the inspiration Aimee!

Aimee and her father heading down the "aisle". I love the natural cascade design that she selected, a perfect fit for her natural and casual theme!

Dan's glass teardrop beads were added to her bouquet for the perfect amount of sparkle and movement. So sweet.

Aimee is really into lady bugs and I just had to put Dan's glass lady bugs on display in her bouquet, love love love them!

I like how his light blue shirt matches the hydrangea we used.

He gets a lady bug too!

I think Aimee's friends were the photographers and for non-professional work, she got some great shots!!

They decorated the gazebo themselves and look how pretty it is!

Hanging baskets and ribbon add color to the ceremony background.

Instead of a unity candle, they planted a tree. Ok, you totally won me over here kids.

Dan's mom admiring her glass beads too! I love when all of our little details are noticed!

Her set up for a wishing tree!

What a cute idea! The cards were hung on those trees for all to admire, especially Aimee and Dan.

They get a personalized brick installed at Pratt Gardens! I hope they go back every spring to admire it.

Place cards were actually pinwheels!

Dan also made the favors, beautiful and simple hand-blown glass drops. Perfect for a Christmas tree or hung from a chandelier!

It sure is.

Many congrats to Aimee and Dan, we will always adore your personal touches that you added to your wedding day. Thanks for the delightful surprises!!

Jersey Shore Wedding Florist: A glance back to Carly and Jeff at Greate Bay Country ClubBy: admin

We first mentioned our relationship with Carly and Jeff in a post last fall, but we have recently gotten access to her professional pictures, SCORE! The wonderful Gary Johnson was her photographer (as well as my own wedding photographer!) and he captured every detail of her wedding day, and I mean EVERY DETAIL. I can always count on him for beautiful work, thanks so much for that Gary!

For Carly’s wedding, she loved loved loved calla lilies and we tried to include them in every aspect for her, I think by her beautiful smile that she was pleased! Her fall wedding at Greate Bay Country Club was on a perfect day, she got lucky with the weather! Dawn and I really appreciated how she let us take the design reigns, Carly wanted to be pleasantly surprised with her flowers on her wedding day and I love that kind of attitude. Give us your vibe and we will take care of the rest! Her mom was so excited for her first daughter to get married, we got tied up in the emotions too haha! Jeff’s mom even got in on the wedding planning fun, which I always think it is nice to include the groom’s side too, everyone wants to help make the day magical! As a mother to a little boy, I am banking on the fact that my future daughter in law will let me in on the wedding planning…fingers crossed! Well, maybe I am jumping the gun a bit, Lee is only 10 months old!

I have been experimenting with the photos on my blog, I think this lightbox gallery player will be easier for you to view the pictures. Just click to scroll through them and the captions are underneath. I think my old way of posting the pics took too long to load, let me know what you think!

Again, a big thanks to Gary Johnson for the pics and the biggest thanks ever to Carly for sharing them all with us! Best of luck with the new puppy Carly and Jeff!

Swansea Vineyards, South Jersey Wedding Florist: Some warmer thoughts during this snow!By: admin

Everyone surviving the snow out there? I have actually enjoyed our blizzard this weekend, I got so much accomplished and my husband was not working for once! We tackled our dining room redo and I guess we had a little but too much gumption, since we had it all repainted and put back to order by noon on Saturday. Oh well, it left us the afternoon to play with Lee and watch some more episodes of Rescue Me…can’t get much better than that, folks. Anyway, back to business.

Last June (yes 3 weeks before my due date,  and no my mother was not happy about this), Dawn and I had the pleasure of working with a lovely bride named Lori. Her wedding was held at Swansea Vineyards, a local winery in Shiloh. Her marriage started out with lots of luck, since she had LOTS OF RAIN, but it looks like it stopped long enough to take some pictures! Listen up brides-to-be planning outdoor ceremonies and receptions, order a LARGER tent than you think you will need. You can thank me for this later :) Oh and at least entertain the thought of a rain plan. Lori did and it all worked out!

Thanks to Bryan Littel (609.280.0378, bryanlittel@gmail.com) for sharing some of his shots. Lori is also a photographer, she works for the good ole Salem Sunbeam, but also does other photography sessions too. Contact her at 609.501.3160 or LMNOP915@gmail.com for more info.

Thank you Lori and Stephen for letting us be a part of your special day! I am already looking forward to all of our summer weddings, this snow will be gone soon and replaced with many sunny wedding days (and maybe a few rainy, but lucky, ones!).  Happy shoveling!

Running Deer, South Jersey Wedding Florist: Our wedding of the year!By: admin

Every year we have that one wedding that just truly comes together and turns out even more amazing then we had envisioned. This year I think that wedding was Staci and Justin’s. They got married at Running Deer on Oct. 3rd and everything was just gorgeous. The ceremony was outside, under the new pergola that Running Deer put up, on a beautiful fall day. The event was full of hydrangea, orchids, and dahlias in stunning shades of purple and orange.

The beautiful bride with her bouquet :)

We lined the aisle with orange rose petals and strung the chairs with satin ribbon. Purple hydrangeas were tied to every other chair to add that extra little touch.

The new pergola really sets up the perfect area for a beautiful golf course ceremony. We draped tulle to create a Chuppa and hung hydrangea in 'floating' vases from the top.

LOVED these centerpieces. We used our popular bell vase and created a mounded arrangement for the top of hydrangea, orange roses, and green spider mums. We accented with the same crystal beads that were used outside on the pergola and uses a stem of the phalaenopsis orchids in the bottom. The arangement on the top was done in a seperate dish so that they could be lifted out of the vase and sent home with guests. We heard that some of the orchids lasted a month once they were taken home!

We added more of the crystal beaded garland along the bottom and all the tables were accented with orange rose petals, votives and scattered crystals. Greate Bay Country Club, Somers Point NJ Wedding Florist: Jeff and CarlyBy: admin

Last weekend Mary and I had the pleasure of setting up a wedding at the Greate Bay County Club, http://www.greatebay.com/. Carly and Jeff were so great to work with. Carly gave us a lot of creative license and it all turned out just fabulous. The Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point was gorgeous, the perfect spot for an outdoor wedding ceremony. Mary and I split up that day as we had another wedding also (blog to come about that one), luckily Mary got some great pictures so I could see how well everything turned out.

The bride's bouquet included orange callas, ivory roses, orange roses, scabiosa stellata, and a croton leaf color. This bouquet was the epitomy of fall, with great colors and lots of different details that made it really unique and one of a kind.

The bridesmaids wore champagne colored gowns. The bouquets were made up of all orange calla lilies, Carly's favorite flower, and I am sure they photographed gorgeous against their champagne gowns.

The bride bought these cute little bags to hold rose petals for her guests to toss as the couple came back down the aisle :)
