South Jersey Wedding Florist: Cassie and Rob at Running DeerBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I have been keeping busy these last few weeks (soooo glad she is back to work, with baby Sam at her side of course!).  We are going to be participating in Centerton Country Club & Event Center’s Bridal Show on March 25th and are hoping to meet lots of new brides that day.  The show is from noon until 4pm and is FREE!  There is going to be tons of vendors, and you can register to attend easily HERE.  We also recently hosted a DIY party as part of a fun ladies night out.  The wedding I want to share today was a DIY wedding.  The bride and her family and bridesmaid came into our studio a few days before the wedding and they made all the bouquets and centerpieces, with a little guidance from Mary and I.  They did a fantastic job!  Tami Melissa shared these gorgeous photos with us (we are working with her on a wedding this weekend at One Atlantic too; can’t wait to see those photos!).

Cassie carried a bouquet of all fuchsia garden roses and peonies.

Cassie had this coin that featured her father’s profile that we attached in memory of him.  I love that she found such a unique way to remember him on her wedding day.  We also wrapped her bouquet with an embroidered handkerchief.

Rob wore a bout of fuchsia asters.

The bridesmaids wore long blue gowns and carried bouquets of garden roses and asters (all made by them!).

Instead of a place card table, Cassie used our shutter screen.  We accented the screen by hanging pictures, that Cassie provided, and bud vases of flowers.

The reception was held at Running Deer and as usual they did an amazing job.  We used our pink mercury glass filled with white flowers including hydrangea, football mums, and stock.

The Sweet Life Bakery designed this gorgeous cake which was accented with garden roses, stock, and football mums.

The bridesmaid bouquets were placed on the cake table with votive candles.  Running Deer really is such a gorgeous venue!

We loved working with Cassie and her family and bridesmaids on designing these wedding flowers.  They were such a fun group.  Thanks Cassie and Rob for letting us be a part of your wedding day, xoxo!

SJ Wedding Florist: Julie & Glenn at Running Deer Golf ClubBy: Mary Coombs

Well the holiday season is upon us and Mary and I have been enjoying every minute of it.  We branched out to home decorating this year and have had a blast coming up with new and unique ideas.  Give us a call if you are a little behind with your holiday decorating, just imagine coming home to your tree up and lit and your house looking party ready, it would be like a dream come true!

Now in the midst of all this red and green I have for you a pinkalicious wedding :) Julie and Glenn were married August 14th in a gorgeous outside ceremony at Running Deer Golf Club in Pittsgrove, NJ.  Julie loved pink and roses, so we did our best to make her vision come to life.  Doug of Douglas Photographics caught some great shots of Julie and Glenn’s day.

Julie carried a hand tied bouquet of ivory roses, two shades of pink roses, stephanotis with pearl accents, light pink calla lilies, and pink spray roses.

Here are all the beautiful ladies!  The girls over at Salon Nicole did an awesome job, check them out if you are in need of someone for hair and makeup on your big day.  The bridesmaids wore dresses in two different shades of pink and carried bouquets of pink gerber daisies, pink roses, and pink alstroemeria.  I think we did a great job of picking the perfect colored flowers to compliment their gowns!

I love this shot – beautiful flowers and a gorgeous couple!

We designed this floral centerpiece to hang on the arbor at Running Deer.  We also hung little vases of pink roses – so pretty!

Here you can see the vases that we hung.  A simple touch that really makes a big impact.

To define the aisle we strung a crystal garland down the chairs and accented the chairs with more of the pink roses and some pink satin ribbon.

Half of the tables were done in our chic vase.  We added a crystal chandelier and manzanita branches to the vase.  On the branches we hung crystals and added in some pink alstroemeria.  A few pink rose petals in the bottom of the vase completed the look.

The chandaliers really turned these centerpieces into something special!

Thanks Julie and Glenn for choosing A Garden Party as your wedding florist.  You are an adorable couple and we had so much fun bringing this pink wedding to life! We wish you a wonderful 1st holiday season together as husband and wife!

Shannon & David at Town & Country Golf Links in Woodstown, NJBy: Mary Coombs

It is hard to believe that it is Thanksgiving week already (don’t forget to call and order your Thanksgiving centerpiece – it still isn’t too late)!  This year has been a blur of weddings for Mary and I….and we have loved every minute of it!  Shannon and David were married in early September at The Rushes in Woodstown, NJ. Shannon loved pink and her bridesmaids wore these adorable printed dresses, so of course we brought in all the pink we could with flowers. All photos are courtesy of Diana Harkins Photography - thanks Diana!

Here is Shannon and some of her gorgeous bridal party.  I love these bridesmaids dresses – so cute!  I like when the bridesmaids dresses look like they could be worn again, these would be perfect for a summer party.  Bridesmaids carried coordinating bouquets of white and pink callas with a touch of sweet alstroemeria. Hair and makeup by our new friend , Jess, owner of Your Day Your Way, looking good gals!

For Shannon’s bouquet we used pink and some white mini calla lilies and pink roses.  We added a pink gem to each calla and then used some pink wire to add a modern edge to the bouquet.

This flower girl, Grace, was just too cute!  She wore a halo of pink  spray roses and carried a wand of the pink roses.

Here you can see her flower wand.  This idea is great for little girls…makes them feel like a real princess!

Their ceremony took place outside so we did a screen using 4 of our pillars filled with curly willow, pink crystal strands, hanging mirrors, and the huge pink roses.

Congratulations Shannon and David…hope your enjoying married life and enjoy your first Thanksgiving together as a married couple.  We were honored to be a part of your day! Thanks again Patrick family, see you around town!

South Jersey Wedding Florist – The Seaview Dolce ResortBy: Mary Coombs

In August we set up our first wedding at The Seaview Dolce Resort in Galloway, NJ.  Kristen had such a fun vision for her wedding day and we were more than happy to help. Her wonderful photographer, Paula Cella sent us these amazing pictures, which we couldn’t wait to share. Kristen and John’s day was full of pink gerber daisies, limes, and lots of special details that all added up to a gorgeous wedding.

Kristen’s bouquet was full of pink gerber daisies, calla lilies, and green hypericum.  We accented the bouquet with criss crossed bear grass and colored pearl pins in the gerbers.  Striking!

Love this shot – beautiful couple!

The bridesmaids bouquets used similiar flowers, but were wrapped with black ribbon accented with wire – love these pink vases!

This pergola turned out awesome.  We hung little vases of gerbers and added a large arbor piece to the top.  Stunning!

We hung the same bud vases on shephard’s hooks to line the aisle.

Half of the tables had this centerpiece which was done in our Chic Vase (a rental item) filled with limes.  On top we arranged the flowers in a detachable dish (so guests can take them home to enjoy).  We uses gerbers, dahlias, spider mums, and orchids.  The colors really popped against the black table linens.

The other half of the centerpieces were done in a glass cube filled with limes.  Pink and lime green are a hot color combo!

Thank you Paula for the pictures – we hope we get to work together again soon! Congratulations to Kristen and John, everything about your wedding day was fun and we feel so lucky that we got to be a part of it!

South Jersey Wedding Florist – Scotland RunBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I have been sooooo wonderfully busy! Sorry we are behind on our blogging, we have quite a few weddings that I have been wanting to blog about…it is just finding the time! A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of doing wedding flowers for Taralynn and Jim. Taralynn was such a sweet bride, she was so excited on her wedding day and actually teared up when she saw her flowers <3 They were married at Scotland Run in Williamstown, NJ. They had an outdoor ceremony (Scotland Run has some fantastic landscaping), and were lucky enough to have some gorgeous weather. As usual T Alimario completely blew me away with his pictures of the day, I really can’t say enough good things about him. Check out the pictures and see for yourself!

Taralynn’s bouquet was all calla lilies, accented with purple beaded wire.

The bridesmaids carried coordinating bouquets of calla lilies and lavender roses, accented with black beaded wire.

Her mom carried a small nosegay of calla lilies, a great alternative to a corsage.

I LOVE this picture – look at how sweet this little flower girl looks with her pomander!

A calla lily boutonniere accented with ivory ribbon.

Large white urns filled with delphinium, hydrangea, and roses flanked the couple during the ceremony.

Taralynn had these adorable little bird place cards for her place card table.  We made ‘trees’ for the birds to sit in and accented with fresh flowers.  Soooo cute!

Here is our silver birdcage.  This is a popular rental item.  For Taralynn we accented it with black ostrich feather trim and satin ribbon.

We dressed up the cake with hydrangea and delphinium florets.

Congratulations Taralynn and Jim!  Your day was gorgeous and we were so honored to be a part of it.

South Jersey Wedding Florist – Karlie and John at Centerton Country ClubBy: Mary Coombs

Recently Mary and I have had the pleasure of doing quite a few weddings at the Centerton Country Club. We have really enjoyed working with them and were excited to share these pictures (all courtesy of T Alimario, his work is amazing!). Karlie came to us looking for a romantic wedding day filled with roses, and as you are going to see – that is exactly what we gave her.

Check out the garden roses in Karlie’s bouquet – they have about a million petals a piece and look awesome when they open up!  We added pink sweet pea, pink spray roses, and geranium leaves to finish the look.

Here is another shot – I loved the bright green geranium leaves, they were a last minute addition to her order and I love them in her bouquet.  Many times wholesalers will have items like this that are kind of seasonal and brides that trust us with the flower selection usually end up with the best final product.  We never know what exactly will be available the week of your wedding, but we always try to find a little something different to add, like these geranium leaves.

I love this shot – gorgeous!

Her bridesmaids showing Karlie some love <3

This always makes me gasp a little – but it also always turns into an amazing shot!  Check out the pink sash on the one dress, you are going to be seeing it again…

We dressed up the arbor with silk flowers provided to us by Karlie.  We are happy to work with our brides if they have materials they have already purchased.

These hanging pomanders (made of CARNATIONS…we break our rule of no carns for fun projects like these) turned out even better than we had dreamed they would.  We hung them with the same pink sashes that you saw earlier on Karlie’s bridesmaid.  Karlie scored a great deal and bought bunches of them for us to use.  The color was perfect!

The pomanders were then carried in and used to accent the reception room. Check out the ice sculpture (I believe this is part of Centerton Country Club’s wedding package).

The pomanders were also brought in and placed on fishbowls. I think the fish really liked their spruced up home, ha.

One of our most popular rental options are these Diana candleholders.  For Karlie we tinted the water pink and floated candles on top.  We have also floated flowers in them.  Lots of options for these!

Here is the coordinating Diana vase filled with Sweet Unique and Light Orlando pink roses, and of course accented with a pink sash.

The room all set up – gorgeous!

Thanks Karlie and John for letting us be a part of your special day. We loved all the pink!!! Again, thanks T for the great images!!

South Jersey Wedding Florist: Karen and ByronBy: Mary Coombs

Karen and Byron’s wedding was a really special wedding for A Garden Party, we have known Karen for our whole lives! Both of our moms had a baking 4-H club that we were in (Bakin’ Bits <3) and not only did we learn how to make barbie cakes and all kinds of goodies we now spoil our husbands with, we formed a strong friendship.  And as for Byron, he was John’s college roommate and I often define our relationship as BB and AB (before Byron and after Byron haha), he has been there by our side for many years and even on our own wedding day. John and I were happy to return the favor for them! Together, Byron and Karen are one of those couples that are just so perfect for each other, watching them is seeing a couple that really interacts as one.  Byron farms in South Jersey (his farm actually touches our farm!) and they really wanted to make that a part of their day.  Their photographer, Millie of Millies Photography, got some great shots on the farm and at the bride’s grandmother’s historic home in Elmer.  Millie was a perfect addition to the wedding day, I just loved her wit, attention to detail, artistic eye and genuine enthusiasm for her job. Thanks for the sharing the images!

A Garden Party made sure to incorporate lots of little “down-home” touches that showed Karen and Byron’s personalities.  The boutonnieres were all accented with a touch of dried wheat, right from Byron’s fields and we wrapped Karen’s bouquet with a family heirloom crocheted piece, accented with a vintage brooch (also a family piece).  In the bouquet we used pale pink mini callas, bouvardia, dahlias, waxflower, and freesia. Look closely at the picture of the bridal party…Mary was proudly holding one of our creations.  We love doing wedding flowers, but especially love doing the flowers for couples that we know.  Congrats Byron and Karen and thank you for letting us be such a big part of your day!

Check out the crochet work and brooch….details like this are so pretty, and really meaningful.

Karen and the sweetest little flower girl (love that Caylen!), I love the wreath of flowers we made for her hair. This image is truly magical.

Check out this ring bearer - he is keeping his eye on things! Love you Bradley!

There’s Mary and John, 2nd couple in from the right hand side….gorgeous bridal party!

I love this picture, Millie really caught the perfect moment here.

May your love always reap bountiful harvests…..xoxo

Salem County NJ Wedding Florist: Aimee & Dan, Pratt GardensBy: Mary Coombs

I love to be surprised, who doesn’t? This wedding handed me a lovely little surprise, I had NO IDEA that Pratt Gardens on County Home Road in Pilesgrove NJ even existed! And I grew up on a farm just down the road! From the looks of Aimee’s wedding photos, it was a perfect location for their outdoor ceremony and tented reception. Aimee’s wedding was a casual family affair, full of many personal touches that I just adored….I can’t even take credit for them, Aimee did all the planning! However, during our first consultation when I discovered that her fiance was a glass blower, I quickly expressed my excitement (and jealousy – I took a glass blowing class in college and phew, that stuff is harder than it looks!). I asked Dan to make some glass beads to add to our floral designs and I just LOVE what he came up with. I knew I would, so that wasn’t really a surprise haha. I was happy to design the bridal party flowers for their special day and I hope that Aimee doesn’t mind me showcasing some of her other creative gardeny ideas for all of our other brides out there. Thanks for the inspiration Aimee!

Aimee and her father heading down the "aisle". I love the natural cascade design that she selected, a perfect fit for her natural and casual theme!

Dan's glass teardrop beads were added to her bouquet for the perfect amount of sparkle and movement. So sweet.

Aimee is really into lady bugs and I just had to put Dan's glass lady bugs on display in her bouquet, love love love them!

I like how his light blue shirt matches the hydrangea we used.

He gets a lady bug too!

I think Aimee's friends were the photographers and for non-professional work, she got some great shots!!

They decorated the gazebo themselves and look how pretty it is!

Hanging baskets and ribbon add color to the ceremony background.

Instead of a unity candle, they planted a tree. Ok, you totally won me over here kids.

Dan's mom admiring her glass beads too! I love when all of our little details are noticed!

Her set up for a wishing tree!

What a cute idea! The cards were hung on those trees for all to admire, especially Aimee and Dan.

They get a personalized brick installed at Pratt Gardens! I hope they go back every spring to admire it.

Place cards were actually pinwheels!

Dan also made the favors, beautiful and simple hand-blown glass drops. Perfect for a Christmas tree or hung from a chandelier!

It sure is.

Many congrats to Aimee and Dan, we will always adore your personal touches that you added to your wedding day. Thanks for the delightful surprises!!

Southern NJ Wedding Florist: Liz & DaveBy: Mary Coombs

Congrats to the newlyweds! A few weeks ago, Dawn and I were a part of Liz’s wedding day in Swedesboro NJ and we just got the professional pictures back and couldn’t wait to share them with you. Liz’s photographer, Michelle La Brake (call 267.978.6043 for info) did a fabulous job capturing some great flower shots for us, thanks so much Michelle! The lovely Liz was keeping it classy with a black and white theme (I told ya it was popular!) and she fell in LOVE with the look of hot pink “but not fluorescent 80′s hot pink” (direct quote from Liz) against the black dresses. We used a few shades of pink to give it some dimension, lighter pink peonies and bright pink Hot Princess roses. What a classic and beautiful combo!

A Garden Party was happy to create these bouquets for her wedding day!

Peonies, roses and the invite….so pretty!

Delicate stephanotis are accented with rhinestones, we do a lot of this and it never gets old!!

He bouquet was wrapped with a family heirloom handkerchief, a thoughtful touch!

I think this was taken on her front porch, how cute!

The pink really lightens it up!

The whole gang…

Ta da! The highly anticipated cake (I don't know about you, but that is the best part about a wedding! Oh well that and the whole love for eternity thing too.)

Thank you Liz for hiring us to be a part of your wedding day, it was a pleasure! Especially because you picked one of my favorite flowers, peonies! Drive by my house and admire them all blooming (what is left after my harvesting, anyway). We wish you all the best…and tell your hubby to plant a peony for you so he can cut a bouquet for your anniversary every year <3

Philadelphia Wedding Florist: Nick and IreneBy: Mary Coombs

The words I am choosing to describe this wedding….fun, stylish, personal, light-hearted, and did I say fun? I met with Nick and Irene many many months ago to get started on the planning for their April showers themed wedding day, and what a delight that was! Immediately I knew we were gonna get along juuuuuuuuust fine. They wanted to find a florist to portray their modern and slightly funky theme without all the fuss, well glad you found us Irene! On April 24th, Nick and Irene tied the knot (I want to know where that expression came from) at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Gloucester City NJ and then hopped the bridge to Philadelphia’s Society Hill Dance Academy for the wedding reception. Both so beautiful!! Even though it didn’t rain that day (it was picture perfect!), her April showers theme was a hit! We added in touches of umbrellas and bright turquoise blue to compliment the pops of pink and orange flowers and it was oh-so-adorable! I kinda wish more brides would have concrete themes, instead of just colors, we had fun adding in all these creative details. Check out these AWESOME pics from Alimario Photo, there were so many great ones to choose from, I had a hard time! T, you were great to work with and I can’t wait to do it again!

Irene's colorful bouquet or orange mini gerbers, hot pink garden roses (the scent was intoxicating), Cherry Brandy roses (one of my favs!!), stephanotis with pearls and dusty miller….something tells me she isn't afraid of color ;)

Showing off our stem treatment of ivory ribbon overlapped with orange polka dotted trim and we just had to add her umbrella charms on there too!

T Alimario, you are my hero.

The smoky bridesmaid dresses were the perfect backdrop for bright bouquets!

The wedding kiss framed by our ceremony urns, filled with roses, snapdragons and pussy willow.

Gasp!

I love everything about this picture!

Looks like the bridal party is ready for a cocktail!

We took this close up shot of the cocktail tables, so cute!

I designed this umbrella arrangement for her bar; rose petals filled the cylinder vase and dripped off the coordinating parasol! (Sometimes I even impress myself!)

From our lens as well, we just had to show the cute card box that she made. This must be the new thing, a few of our brides have done this! We just finished it off with rose petals and votives.

Centerpieces were an eclectic mix of blue glassware and bright florals, love this look!

Could you two be any cuter? Nice kicks Nick :)

Thanks to Nick and Irene for letting us have all that fun! Best wishes!
