South Jersey Wedding Florist: Running Deer Golf Club WeddingBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I spent last week down at the shore with our family (yes, we even vacation together!) and while the break was amazing, I am glad to be back!  It is always nice to have that time to relax….we both came into the office this morning completely refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the wedding season.  I am excited to blog about this wedding….not only because Melissa was one of my favorite brides, but also because the flowers are so pretty!  Melissa, and her adorable husband, participated in our Rock the Dress photo shoot that we did last summer and lately I have been stalking her facebook checking out the pictures of their gorgeous new baby girl. We always love working at Running Deer and will actually be headed there this Saturday for Julianne’s pretty pink wedding.

Melissa’s favorite flowers are daisies so we, of course, made sure we incorporated them into her bouquet. We also used yellow dahlias, lavender stock, and silver brunia berries.  A vintage lavender hanky that belonged to her grandmother was tied around the stems.

I love this shot of the flowers in the center of the ballroom floor!

How cute are these bridesmaids!  I loved the varying shades of purple dresses and the one floral printed dress is so cute!  They carried bouquets of lavender stock, lavender dahlias, yellow mums, and silver brunia berries.

We added lavender rhinestone pins to the daisies in Melissa’s bouquet for that perfect touch of shimmer.

I loved this yellow bout against the grey tux.

Interesting story about their ceremony.  Everything was set up outside and ready to go…the sun was shining and the weather was gorgeous.  Suddenly a thunderstorm blew in and the amazing staff at Running Deer quickly moved everything inside.  Here are the shepherds hooks with hanging vases of purple hydrangea lining the aisle – outside.

And here they are moved inside!  Just goes to show that either way, inside or out, your wedding ceremony will be beautiful!

I am in love with these cute little lavender votive cups.  We lined these along the front of the head table…with a few daisies to accent.  These votives are available for rent (we have lots of colored votive options).

A single daisy was tucked into each napkin.

The centerpieces were a trio of square vases accented with lavender ribbon and a yellow daisy.  The vases held lavender stock, dahlias, and hydrangea.

Check out these cute purple bud vases!  Also available for rent.

The Sweet Life Bakery did an amazing job with the cake.  I love the pop of yellow against the white!

Thanks Melissa for sharing all of these amazing pictures with us.  You were a gorgeous bride and we loved working with you!  Congrats on your new baby girl!

You haven’t seen centerpieces like this before! Tiffany & Dan at the Golden Inn, Avalon NJBy: Mary Coombs

There is nothing more I love to see in my inbox than this, “I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing job that you did at Tiffany’s wedding. Everything was beautiful and we are so thankful that we used you to decorate for the wedding!” Well you are welcome Mrs. Samuel! Now we all know MOB’s tell the truth, so that makes me feel pretty awesome.

Tiffany sent us these photos from her wedding day last summer at the Golden Inn in Avalon NJ. Her groom, Dan, is a chef so they wanted to incorporate some culinary details into the centerpieces, but also nod to the beach theme. I think we did a pretty good job melding them both!

The bridal party flowers….

We accented the bridesmaid bouquets with rope and starfish.

Tiffany’s bouquet was wrapped with ivory satin and I made this little garland of starfish.

She loves bright colors, so we just ran with it! Fuchsia phals, purple sweet pea, green bupleurum, green cymbidium orchids, scabiosa stellata and orange spray roses did the trick.

Her adorable flower girl carried this pomander of orange babe spray roses with a twine ribbon.

Her bridal party included a man of honor! And lots of pretty ladies in periwinkle gowns!

The ceremony was held on the beach, just outside the Golden Inn in Avalon. We lined the aisle with carnation pomanders composed of orange, purple and green carns, hung with some beachy rope.

The back row of chairs was accented with our orange sashes and larger starfish tied on with rope, I loved this!

Now, here is the cool stuff. Being a farm girl, I love incorporating veggie into our floral designs. Chef Dan (the groom) encouraged us to use green, orange and purple vegetables with coordinating flowers as the centerpieces. This is what we came up with! See the lettuce in the background? The ceremony pomanders were reused on the long head table as well. A few scattered crystals add glam.

Orange bell peppers + orange roses.

Green zucchini + green celosia.

Purple leaf lettuce + purple carnations.

Accented with kale + crystals.

= LOVE how unique this is!

The up-lighting really added to the room too, totally transformed the look. We hope all the foodies out there loved it too! We are heading back to the Golden Inn in a few weeks, we have a lot of weddings booked there this year and we are thrilled about it. Today is our last day in the office, the rest of the week we will be working in the flower shop and on the road delivering our weddings. Hope you have a great week!

Philadelphia Wedding Florist: Kiera and Ryan at Philadelphia Racquet ClubBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I are so excited about some new changes going on over here.  We are having new floors put in the flower shop (no more concrete!), they should finish up today.  Then we are going to reorganize our consultation area.  There is something to be said for getting everything set just right.  I love when brides come in to our shop and are so surprised at what they find.  Yes, we are located in the middle of a field, but we still want it to be fab!  Speaking of fab, I am excited to share this winter wedding with everyone.  I love winter weddings.  This past December we did a gorgeous wedding at The Philadelphia Racquet ClubThomas W. Lunt Photography shared these amazing photos with us.  I loved Kiera’s color scheme; the dark red and purple looked so striking.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of dark red roses, purple stock, purple lisianthus, and touches of cedar.  We accented the roses with crystal pins.

Kiera’s bouquet was white peonies, dark red garden roses, purple stock, purple lisianthus, and a collar of cedar.  We added diamond pins to the roses.

The pretty little flower girl wore a crown of red spray roses and carried a wand of red roses.

At the church we used our large bell vases filled with cranberries.  We topped them with arrangements of red garden roses, purple stock, red amaryllis, winter greens, and winterberry branches.

The reception room at The Philadelphia Racquet is so pretty.  I loved the blue walls.  We wanted to bring a touch of that blue into the centerpieces so we incorporated the blue/purple dendrobium orchids with red amaryllis, purple stock, red roses, winter greens, and winterberry branches.

The arrangements were placed on top of our chic vase, which was filled with cranberries.  We also added hanging crystals (we love a touch of bling!).

I loved the amaryllis!

For the other half of the tables we did little arrangements in our Diana candle holder trio.

We accented each of the candle holders with dark purple ribbon and a crystal brooch.  We also added our crystal votive holders to each table.

Each napkin was adorned with a spring of winter greens.

We spruced up the gift table with cylinders of amaryllis and roses.

The cake was finished with a ring of red roses and purple lisianthus.  We like to leave vases for the bridesmaids bouquets on the cake table.  This is the perfect spot for bridesmaids to place their flowers.

Thanks Kiera and Ryan for letting us be a part of your day!  We loved every detail of this gorgeous winter wedding!

South Jersey Florist: Megan and Daniel at BrigaliasBy: Mary Coombs

Hope everyone is loving our new website and blog!!!  We have been a little behind on our blogging, while we got the new website up and running, but now we are back and are vowing to get back into regular blogging.  Check out this gorgeous purple wedding that we did this past summer.  Megan and Daniel got married at Brigalia’s in Sickerville, New Jersey. The bride loves purple, so her colors were green and purple. (One of my favorite color combinations!)

Her bouquet was a variety of purple flowers including picasso calla lilies, stock, alstroemeria and orchids.

I love the bridesmaids’ pistachio gowns! The purple bouquets look great against the green.  The girls carried bouquets of purple stock and green gladiola blooms.  Gladiola are one of my favorite flowers!

The flowers looked beautiful on this elegant cake. We used purple orchids, dark purple stock, purple gladiola blooms, and green button mums to coordinate with the bridal party flowers and dresses.

Thank you Megan and Daniel for letting us be a part of your big day. We hope married life is treating you well!

South Jersey Wedding Florist: Ben and April at The Riverview InnBy: Mary Coombs

Today has been such a busy day!  We set up the most amazing wedding yesterday at Trump Nation of Pine Hill….I can’t wait to get the pictures back to share with you guys! It was a wedding full of all kinds of natural details…tons of ferns, birch branches, and of course a little bling ;) This morning we got our flower shop back in order (seems that in the middle of creative frenzy that occurs during our flower designing, things seem to get a little messy!). Since then we have been busy pulling together our flower orders for all of the May weddings and now Mary is out meeting with another potential bride :) and I figured while she was out in the shop I would try to get a blog up. Today I want to share April and Ben’s wedding at The Riverview Inn in Pennsville, NJ.  These two are such a cute couple, and as friends of ours, we loved the chance to be a part of their wedding day. Pravada Photography did a great job with the pictures and was kind enough to send some my way.

Aren’t these two such a cute couple?!?!?

undefined

April carried a bouquet of Virginia roses, white lilac, lavender freesia, light pink spray roses, and silver brunia berries.  I LOVE lilac…it is one of those flowers that makes bouquets look so soft and romantic.

undefined

We wrapped the stems of her bouquet with ivory ribbon and light pink lace.  Little light pink pearl pins were the final touch.

undefined

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of lavender roses, lavender lilac, pink spray roses, freesia, and brunia berries.  The stems were wrapped with purple satin ribbon and black lace, which coordinated perfectly with their gowns.

undefined

The ring of flowers around a candle really is one of my favorite centerpiece options.  This is always the perfect size for the table, and is something guests can easily take home with them after the wedding.

undefined

We used green and white hydrangea, lavender roses, pink spray roses, purple trachelium and statice in the rings.

undefined

We got the candles locally from A Whole New Light in Elmer, NJ.  We really enjoy trying to buy supplies and flowers locally whenever possible.

undefined

A family friend did this cake…and I know it doesn’t have any flowers…but it was just too pretty not to share.  Great job Josie!

undefined

Well I just couldn’t end this blog without a photo of Mary getting down on the dance floor with the bride.  Looks like everyone had a good time!

undefined

Thanks April and Ben for letting us be a part of your wedding day.  I loved the chance to work with some of my favorite flowers and to see such a sweet couple getting hitched <3

South Jersey Florist: Kerry & Garrett at Running DeerBy: Mary Coombs

Yesterday Mary and I attended Delaware Valley Wholesale Florists Florapalooza.  We had such a good time and came back really excited and energized about 2011.  It was amazing to be there with approximately 800 people that loved flowers just as much as we do.  We got to check out some of the newest up and coming flowers from all over the world…and of course we made sure to take detailed notes and lots of photos.  Our 2011 brides are in for some really amazing stuff!!!  Last week I got a photo CD sent over from one of our October brides, Kerry.  This girl is GORGEOUS so I knew her photos would rock…and I wasn’t disappointed.  Kerry and Garrett had their reception at Running Deer and, as usual, the room looked beautiful.  We really love working at Running Deer, the wedding coordinator, Heather, is a dream to work with and the staff there always has everything set up and running so smoothly.  Kerry loved purple, so we used purple tulips and purple callas…sometimes using just one or two kinds of flowers, done right, really makes the boldest statement.  Sarah Schulte Photography really caught some amazing shots of the flowers….check them out for yourself!

LOVED her dress, her hair, her veil….well basically I loved it all!

undefined

Kerry carried a bouquet of calla lilies in two shades of purple. We accented the bouquet with bear grass loops and a rhinestone studded brooch.

undefinedundefined

Gorgeous photo – love the lighting!

undefined

Good looking bridal party!!!

undefined

The bridesmaids dresses were adorable.  I loved the length, the sweetheart neckline and the deep eggplant color.

undefined

The back of Kerry’s dress was just as amazing as the front!  The bridesmaids carried bouquets of purple tulips and purple callas wrapped with black satin ribbon, a perfect match for their dresses!

undefinedundefined

I like how the callas are different shades of purple.  Monochromatic bouquets can be so sophisticated.

undefinedundefined

Tulips are perfect for dressing up the place card table.  We used flats of wheat grass and picked the tulips in among the cards.  LOVE.

undefinedundefinedundefined

Half of the tables were done with our Diana candle holders and pedestal vase.  We swirled in bear grass, filled them with water and river rocks, and floated ivory candles in them.  A handful of lavender rose petals finished the table.

undefined

undefinedundefined

The other half of the tables were done with manzanita centerpieces.  We used a cylinder with some river rocks, a single picasso calla lily and added manzanita branches.  On the branches we hung hanging votives and crystal garland.

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

Thank you so much Kerry and Garrett for sharing these photos with us. You were gorgeous and we loved being a part of your day. XOXO!

SJ Wedding Florist: Kristin & Nick at The Merion, Cinnaminson, NJBy: Mary Coombs

I am so relieved to be back on a normal schedule.  The holidays are fun and I loved hanging out with all of my family, but all that holiday food and all those late nights are hard on a girl!  Today I am going to share a wedding with you from our most popular wedding date last year…10/10/10 :)   Kristen and Nick were married at The Merion in Cinnaminson. If you haven’t been to a wedding at The Merion you have got to check out their website. They have many different room options, the decor is elegant and tasteful, and I have heard the food is amazing. Steve Magnotta of Intrigue Photography supplied these gorgeous shots of their day.

Kristen was a beautiful bride.  I loved her purple (my fav!) bouquet of dahlias (hand cut from Mary’s garden!), lavender roses, purple lisianthus, ageratum, gomphrena, asters and purple stock.

Her dress was stunning…I love it as much as I love the flowers!

Check out the dark purple feather trim we used.  Details like this are really what set our bouquets apart from the rest.

The dahlias were stunning…isn’t nature amazing!?!?!

For the bridesmaids we used all ivory flowers so the bouquets would really stand out against their eggplant dresses.  Stock, lisianthus, hydrangea, and roses were used.

All the girls of the day gathered together looking lovely.  The flowergirl carried a cute little pomander of ivory and lavander spray roses.

The centerpieces were designed in a glass cube for guests to take home at the end of the night.  We used white hydrangea, asters, ageratum, and gomphrena.

Thank you so much to Steve for sending me these amazing pictures and to Kristin and Nick for having us be a part of their special day.  Kristin you were a gorgeous bride and a joy to work with, we wish you and Nick a blessed 2011!

Hope everyone is off to a good start with the new year.  Mary and I are gearing up for an amazing year of gorgeous flowers and lots of beautiful brides – we can’t wait!

Pine Hill Golf Club Wedding – Pine Hill, NJ: Michelle & AndrewBy: Mary Coombs

Some things are totally worth the wait! I love looking back at weddings from a few months ago and remembering all the little details and fun we had putting it all together. Michelle and Andrew were married this past July 2010 at the Trump National of Philadelphia in Pine Hill, NJ. Michelle Scanzano  of All Things Beautiful was the wedding planner for this wedding, and as usual did an awesome job. If you are a bride looking for a hands on, detail oriented wedding planner you have got to check her out.  We recently did another wedding with her and I got a copy of the master wedding timeline she created for the bride, WHOA. Most amazing document ever created! Anyway, back to this event…this wedding was full of shades of purple (LOVE) and lots of butterfly accents (LOVE LOVE), perfect for a July wedding.  Jon Carlson of Carlson Photo got some amazing shots of the day that I can’t wait to share, without further ado…

Michelle’s bouquet featured white cymbidium orchids, white stock, sweetness roses, and scabiosa.

All the bouquets lined up pretty, they look ready to go down the aisle!  The bridesmaids carried purple stock, sweetness roses, scabiosa, ageratum, and some silver velvety soft lamb’s ear leaves and brunia berries.  To compliment their dresses we wrapped the bouquets with platinum ribbon.

Michelle was a STUNNING bride.

Michelle and her gorgeous bridesmaids! Their dresses were awesome, and check out their necklaces…I loved that they didn’t match, but coordinated. And dang, look at that view!

Michelle and one of her lovely bridesmaids. They look like models!

To frame the ceremony area we set up our pillars with curly willow, crystal strands, mirrors, and of course a few butterflies.

Again with the model poses!  Gorgeous!

These centerpieces were so much fun.  We used a square of wheat grass, a few manzanita branches, hung strands of dendrobium orchids, and placed a few butterflies in the branches and one perched in the grass. This was really an eye catching centerpiece!

A closeup of the branches with the wired orchids.

The other half of the centerpieces were done in our chic vase.  We filled them with lavender tinted water and a submerged butterfly.  On top we used stock, lavender carnations, and seeded eucalyptus arranged in a container so that guests could take them home at the end of the night.

Check out the butterfly in the water!

I love it when all the details of a wedding tie together.  The place cards coordinated perfectly with the centerpieces, the OCD side of me really loves this kind of detail, ha.

We also made up this manzanita wishing tree dressed up with purple carns (so cute for carns!) and crystals.  Each of the guests left good wishes and words of advise on little cards that were hung from the branches.

Their cake looked so yummy, I am a sucker for anything chocolate.  The butterflies were the perfect touch.

Amazing cake topper with the perfect purple butterfly perched right next to it :)

Thanks Michelle and Andrew for letting us be a part of your special day.  You were a gorgeous couple and we had so much fun coming up with ideas for your butterfly filled day.  Hope you enjoyed your first Thanksgiving together as a married couple!

South Jersey Wedding Florist – Danielle & Dan at The Golden Inn, Avalon NJBy: Mary Coombs

Danielle and Dan were one of those couples that bring a smile to your face just to see them together.  They got married on in Avalon at The Golden Inn(gorgeous venue for a wedding, especially if you are looking to have a beach ceremony). Unfortunately their beach ceremony got rained out at the very last minute, but these two just went with the flow….all they wanted was to get married, and moving the ceremony inside was fine with them. It was refreshing to see a couple that was so laid back, fun, and full of love for one another. Not only were the two of them super sweet, but their family was the best. Danielle’s dad was trying to keep the flower girl busy prior to the ceremony so he brought her into the reception room so she could watch us set up. She was the sweetest little girl, and while he was watching us he said ‘you sure do have a gratifying job, watching this all come together’. Those words really stood out to me, because he is absolutely right…we are lucky to have a job that we love. I was beyond thrilled when Langdon Photography sent us these photos. I was really impressed with their work, check out how amazing these colors look!

Danielle and Dan – aren’t they a cute couple! And her dress was so unique and perfect for her!

Danielle’s bouquet featured lavender roses, lavender sweetpea, asters, dark purple callas, scabiosa, freesia and brunia berries.  I will never get tired of working with purple, it is definitely my favorite color.

Her bridesmaids carried the same flowers used to make a smaller bouquet.  They looked amazing against their blue dresses.

I loved the stem wrap that we did.  We wrapped the stems with navy ribbon and accented with criss-crossed narrow purple ribbon and purple pearl pins.

All the beautiful women of the day! Notice their cute purple floral pins that Danielle had made for them, L.O.V.E.

The flower girl carried a pomander of purple carnations, cute!

For Dan’s bout we used a scabiosa, brunia berries, and wrapped it with ribbon.

We accented the bar with this large martini glass filled with a modern dome of carnations and bear grass.  We have 3 sizes of these martini glasses available for rent, you KNOW you want to add them to your wedding order now ladies!

We dressed up our silver birdcage with carnations and purple ribbon.

On half of the rectangular tables we used our Diana Candleholder Trio.  We swirled bear grass in the vase, and floated a candle on top.  These candleholders look amazing, and are one of our most popular rental items.

On the other half of the tables we used our Diana Pedestal Vase.  We used more of the bear grass in the vase, and topped it with a dome of asters, lavander roses, carnations, and scabiosa.

Their cake was so cute, check out the surfboarding couple on the top!

Thank you Danielle and Dan for letting us be a part of your day.  We had tons of fun working with you and loved doing your wedding flowers! We wish you all the best – xoxo

South Jersey Wedding Florist – Scotland RunBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I have been sooooo wonderfully busy! Sorry we are behind on our blogging, we have quite a few weddings that I have been wanting to blog about…it is just finding the time! A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of doing wedding flowers for Taralynn and Jim. Taralynn was such a sweet bride, she was so excited on her wedding day and actually teared up when she saw her flowers <3 They were married at Scotland Run in Williamstown, NJ. They had an outdoor ceremony (Scotland Run has some fantastic landscaping), and were lucky enough to have some gorgeous weather. As usual T Alimario completely blew me away with his pictures of the day, I really can’t say enough good things about him. Check out the pictures and see for yourself!

Taralynn’s bouquet was all calla lilies, accented with purple beaded wire.

The bridesmaids carried coordinating bouquets of calla lilies and lavender roses, accented with black beaded wire.

Her mom carried a small nosegay of calla lilies, a great alternative to a corsage.

I LOVE this picture – look at how sweet this little flower girl looks with her pomander!

A calla lily boutonniere accented with ivory ribbon.

Large white urns filled with delphinium, hydrangea, and roses flanked the couple during the ceremony.

Taralynn had these adorable little bird place cards for her place card table.  We made ‘trees’ for the birds to sit in and accented with fresh flowers.  Soooo cute!

Here is our silver birdcage.  This is a popular rental item.  For Taralynn we accented it with black ostrich feather trim and satin ribbon.

We dressed up the cake with hydrangea and delphinium florets.

Congratulations Taralynn and Jim!  Your day was gorgeous and we were so honored to be a part of it.
