South Jersey Wedding Florist: Laura and Ray at Running DeerBy: Mary Coombs

I can not believe it is December 11th….and that we haven’t blogged in over a month, fail on our part.  However, while we may not have been blogging, we have been busy creating wedding after wedding of GORGEOUS wedding flowers. Sometimes, when I look back at pictures, I am blown away by how lucky I really am.  Being able to spend (most) of my time working with flowers, and having the chance to truly create something beautiful for our couples is really the best.  I remember I loved this wedding when it was going together and then, when I saw the photos, I fell in love all over again!  I always love setting up a wedding at Running Deer, their staff and attention to detail makes them one of the best venues around. Heather DiPiazza did an amazing job with the photos, check them out for yourself!

Laura’s bouquet was stunning.  She carried purple and fuchsia stock, purple pacu calla lilies, purple veronica, fuchsia plume celosia, and vanda orchids.

These bright purple and pink bouquets stood out great against the bridesmaids charcoal gowns.

I love fresh flowers as an accent in the hair.  These orchids look so pretty!  We provide them already wired, so the hairdresser can easily pin them in place with bobby pins.

September 15th was a gorgeous, sunny day this year.  Check out this pretty bridal party.

I love doing something a little different and unique with the stem wrap.  Here, to tie in the purple, we accented with purple lace.  Pretty!

We hung these pretty cups of fuchsia roses from the pergola at Running Deer.

The aisle was line with fuchsia rose petals, and silver mint julep cups hanging from our black shepherds hooks, filled with purple and fuchsia stock.

Beautiful shot of the ceremony.

These hanging votive cups with roses are the perfect accent and look great in all of the photos of the couple saying their vows.

I LOVED these centerpieces.  Done in our Diana pedestal vase, they featured purple hydrangea, fuchsia and purple stock, purple haze roses, plume celosia, and dark purple iris. A band of charcoal ribbon and purple crystals accented the vase.

On the place card table we used one of our many silver mercury vases.  Pretty!

Another shot of the centerpiece.

The silver julep cups from down the aisle were reused as decor in the chocolate room.

Loved the cake.  The flowers were the perfect pop of color.

Thanks Laura and Ray!  We loved your wedding flowers, and hope you did too, xoxo!

I have lots of blogs started….now just to get back into the business of finishing them and posting them!  As an FYI to all of our fans – we will be closed next week, 12/17-12/25.  Mary and I needed some time to get ourselves together for Christmas!  Tomorrow night we are hosting a Pinterest Party here at the shop….stay tuned for a blog post about the fun times that I am sure will be had, haha!

South Jersey Wedding Florist: Running Deer Golf Club WeddingBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I spent last week down at the shore with our family (yes, we even vacation together!) and while the break was amazing, I am glad to be back!  It is always nice to have that time to relax….we both came into the office this morning completely refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the wedding season.  I am excited to blog about this wedding….not only because Melissa was one of my favorite brides, but also because the flowers are so pretty!  Melissa, and her adorable husband, participated in our Rock the Dress photo shoot that we did last summer and lately I have been stalking her facebook checking out the pictures of their gorgeous new baby girl. We always love working at Running Deer and will actually be headed there this Saturday for Julianne’s pretty pink wedding.

Melissa’s favorite flowers are daisies so we, of course, made sure we incorporated them into her bouquet. We also used yellow dahlias, lavender stock, and silver brunia berries.  A vintage lavender hanky that belonged to her grandmother was tied around the stems.

I love this shot of the flowers in the center of the ballroom floor!

How cute are these bridesmaids!  I loved the varying shades of purple dresses and the one floral printed dress is so cute!  They carried bouquets of lavender stock, lavender dahlias, yellow mums, and silver brunia berries.

We added lavender rhinestone pins to the daisies in Melissa’s bouquet for that perfect touch of shimmer.

I loved this yellow bout against the grey tux.

Interesting story about their ceremony.  Everything was set up outside and ready to go…the sun was shining and the weather was gorgeous.  Suddenly a thunderstorm blew in and the amazing staff at Running Deer quickly moved everything inside.  Here are the shepherds hooks with hanging vases of purple hydrangea lining the aisle – outside.

And here they are moved inside!  Just goes to show that either way, inside or out, your wedding ceremony will be beautiful!

I am in love with these cute little lavender votive cups.  We lined these along the front of the head table…with a few daisies to accent.  These votives are available for rent (we have lots of colored votive options).

A single daisy was tucked into each napkin.

The centerpieces were a trio of square vases accented with lavender ribbon and a yellow daisy.  The vases held lavender stock, dahlias, and hydrangea.

Check out these cute purple bud vases!  Also available for rent.

The Sweet Life Bakery did an amazing job with the cake.  I love the pop of yellow against the white!

Thanks Melissa for sharing all of these amazing pictures with us.  You were a gorgeous bride and we loved working with you!  Congrats on your new baby girl!

South Jersey Florist: Molly and Rich at Running DeerBy: Mary Coombs

Mary and I have been busy little bees this fall.  Every weekend was booked with weddings and every weekend we would say “I love this wedding!”.  It cracks me up how every week we fall in love with a wedding, think it is the best one, and then repeat the whole scenario over again the following week!  We just can’t get enough of our brides, their creative ideas, and playing with all these flowers.  Sometimes a wedding comes along that is just perfection.  Molly and Rich were lucky enough to have one of those weddings.  Sweet Little Molly used to work with Mary at Butler Gardens, a local flower shop, so their friendship goes back to their high school days! It has taken me so long to get this blog up because there are about a million amazing pictures.  Finally, I just decided I am going to share all the ones I love so get ready for an amazingly long blog, ha!  Tina Jay was the photographer (she also raved about Molly!), and as usual her pictures didn’t disappoint!

Molly and Rich were married at Running Deer on a gorgeous day in July.  All the succulents that you see in the bouquets came from Molly’s mom’s garden…we went there and handpicked them ourselves!

Molly’s bouquet featured purple haze roses, green hydrangea, purple vanda orchids, dusty miller, freesia, and the succulents.  We accented the bouquet with pearl garland and tied family hankies around the stems. This is how smart Molly is – she did a bridal portrait shoot with Tina a few months prior to the wedding and we made up her bouquet sample for her to use during the shoot. Great idea! More brides should do that!

Um – could these girls be any more gorgeous!?!?

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of purple stock, green hydrangea, vanda orchids, bupleurum, dusty miller, and succulents.  The stems were wrapped with green ribbon and accented with a burlap detail.

I had to share this picture.  I am obsessed with this vintage chandelier.  Mary and I rescued this (from Mom’s attic – she rescued it from a casino in AC many years ago!) and now offer it as a rental item.  It is perfect for hanging from the pergola at Running Deer. We dressed it up with hanging crystals, springeri fern, and hydrangea.

Rich wore a bout of freesia, dusty miller, and a tiny little succulent.

For the ring bearer we made this adorable little pillow out of moss, twine, and a green button mum.

Amazing photo Tina!

Molly and Rich’s wedding was full of soooo many cute details.  Instead of a Unity Candle, they did a tree planting ceremony.  Molly and Rich each spread some soil on the gardenia, then their parents watered it (showing their support for the new couple).  Love this idea!

Ok – now I thought this was the CUTEST idea I have seen in a long time.  They had their guests shower them with herbs which guests were able to mix themselves according to their wedding wishes.  I love original ideas like this one!

We lined the aisle with shepherds hooks (rental) holding a mason jar of purple hydrangea.

The cocktail tables were topped with our burlap table toppers (rental) and a mason jar full of flowers.

Molly used this antique window pane to hold her guests seating cards (which were labeled polaroids of their dog!), which we accented with hanging moss ball garlands and vanda orchids.

We designed this ‘A’ monogram to hang on their sweetheart table.  This is such a cute way to dress up the sweetheart table!

We have been doing napkin treatments more and more recently.  A flat napkin fold with one flower added is such a nice touch that your guests will really appreciate.

I have been dying to show these items off…we had these items custom made for us by Cobb’s Mill in Alloway, and used them to decorate a long table in the entry way.  All of these items are now offered as rental items and are perfect for the bride looking for rustic wedding details.

This wooden pedestal was another one of our handmade, custom, designs that is now offered as a rental item.  We topped it with the trio of cylinders that Running Deer has for each table, and merely added floating candles, hydrangea, and succulents.  Each of the tables was covered with our burlap table toppers and a moss square, both are rental items.  We really pride ourselves on our extensive rental collection…stop by our studio sometime and check it out!

The Sweet Life Bakery outdid themselves with this gorgeous cake!  It is sitting on our wooden cake stand, also available for rent.

Thank you so much Molly and Rich for being such an amazing couple and working with us, xoxo!

Keep an eye on our website…big changes are coming soon!  Mary and I will be sure to make a big announcement when everything is up and running, but we are gearing up for a whole new website!

Running Deer Wedding Florist: Danielle and RobertBy: Mary Coombs

Well it is Friday….a day that Mary and I look forward to all week :)   Friday’s we spend out in the flower shop, working on wedding flowers pretty much all day….and we couldn’t be happier!  Today I got these amazing photos from Tami Melissa Photography though, and I couldn’t wait to blog about this wedding.  Danielle and Robert were such a FUN couple.  They were married on April 1st (April Fool’s Day!) at Running Deer Golf Club, and we loved being able to be a part of their day.  Danielle was such a sweet bride, and so easy to work with.  She gave us some ideas and we ran with it…and it turned out pretty amazing!  As usual it was a joy working with Running Deer, and Tami Melissa….it is great to have such awesome connections with fellow vendors.  Now on to the fun stuff – pictures, pictures, pictures!

I loved everything about these bouquets…they had such great texture!  We used blue hydrangea, dark blue delphinium, scabiosa, tweedia, magnolia leaves, dried lotus pods, and fiddleheads in the bouquets.

We accented the ribbon wrap with brown twine.  The bridesmaids wore navy gowns, and these bouquets looked gorgeous against the navy.

We decorated the outdoor pergola at Running Deer with hanging blue glass vases filled with blue hydrangea.  To line the aisle we hung vases of blue hydrangea from our shepherds hooks.  To flank the couple we did cobalt blue vases of hydrangea on our pedestals.

Look how excited and happy Danielle looks!!!

Gorgeous couple!

You are beautiful Danielle.

undefined

I loved Robert’s bout.  We used a magnolia leaf, a fiddlehead, scabiosa, and a touch of tweedia.

undefined

I love looking for ways to make each and every bout that we make unique and different.

undefined

For the place card table we strung clothes line between two vases of manzanita, hydrangea, and hanging crystals and used little clothespins to hang the cards on the line. Under the place cards we placed pictures of Danielle and Robert.

undefined

For the centerpieces we used assorted blue glassware filled with blue hydrangea, white lilies, dried lotus pods and blue delphinium.

We loved setting up this wedding.  It was so fun and different than anything we have done before (which we love!).  Thank you for letting us be a part of your day!!!
