Calling all Cones!

I have something to admit....I am a bit of a pine cone addict. I have always loved them, from the huge sugar pine cones hailing from the west (one day I will go forth and gather my little heart out) or the teeeeny tiny hemlock cones. On a family trip to Maine one summer, I recall collecting bags and bags of cones and then bringing them all the way back to NJ to dry them and use them as holiday decor. Well, we actually just slathered them up with metallic paint and smoothered them with tons of glitter. Alas, my addiction was born. I blame it all on my Mom haha.  Since that day, I have been guilty of pulling my car over on the side of the road to collect some real "gems" or throwing my body in front of my PopPop's lawn mower in an effort to save those perfect cones! Apparently, I am not alone either...check out this facebook page I found! As usual, I have decided to take on yet another project. I have this vision of crafting "icy" pine cones for my much anticipated winter wedding in January. So this is where you come in, I NEED CONES! Does anyone have some neglected in their yard? I will happily come and collect them from you! Any size will do! Is there anyone out there willing to support my addiction? Puh-lease.....I am starting to get the shakes....gotta get those cones!

And for your viewing pleasure, I had to include this picture I found on The Knot. Look at all those cute pine cones used to support the branch. What a great place card table centerpiece! You could make several trees if you needed more room for all of your escort cards. I will be sure to post my cone creations in January...
