I don't know about all of you, but I am getting a little tired of all this snow! Today I decided I wanted to blog about a wedding that reminded me of warmer days...Leslie and Ben's August wedding featuring shades of sunny yellow was perfect. Mary and I have known Leslie and her family for a long time (soccer pals for MANY years) and that made this wedding extra special to us. It is always exciting to see someone we grew up with on their wedding day. Leslie and Ben were married outside at Scotland Run in Williamstown, NJ. Scotland Run features some gorgeous landscaping, so any of those brides out there interested in an outdoor ceremony, make sure to check them out. Gary Johnson was the photographer for this event so I knew we would be getting some amazing photos. Gary, of Photography by Gary Johnson, was Mary's wedding photographer and I can say firsthand that he always does an excellent job of capturing all those special moments. Check it out for yourself:
Leslie carried a bouquet of yellow mini calla lilies, yellow roses, asclepias, dusty miller, and stephanotis with a pearl accent. I loved how the yellow stood out against her wedding dress!
Her shawl was gorgeous...check out all the beading!
Here is a close up of the bouquet. I am loving how open and full those Latina yellow roses are!
Isn't she a gorgeous bride!?!?!?!
Great shot Gary!
Leslie and her sisters - you can't miss that family resemblance! The bridesmaids carried bouquets of yellow mini calla lilies, roses, asclepias, and dusty miller. The bright flowers looked so pretty against their pale yellow dresses.
Love this picture - those Monforto gals are adorably sassy!
Here is Leslie's dad's boutonniere, yellow spray roses accented with dusty miller and stephanotis. Side note: upon delivery, Mary arrived just after Leslie put her dress on and got to witness her kinda blubbering dear dad helping her adjust it perfectly...it was so sweet and emo!
I sometimes feel like we leave the poor groom out of the blog (ha!) so here is a picture of Ben looking very handsome. For his boutonniere we used a yellow mini calla lily accented with dusty miller and stephanotis.
Scotland Run has a beautiful room so we decided to go with a simplistic and modern approach for her centerpieces. We used long stem yellow callas bound with silver wire in a cylinder vase. We accented the cylinder with a band of silver ribbon and added yellow rose petals and silver mercury votives to the table to complete the look.
I loved the wire on the stems of the callas.
Here is a finished table. The callas were perfect for these tables.
Mary added callas, roses, dusty miller, and yellow button mums to the cake.
I liked how the flowers topped the cake and the monogram cake topper was placed a little lower.
The finished cake. You can see how flowers can really dress up a simple cake design.
I had to include this picture, because I think if you look closely you can see that the flower girl is holding her pomander with her teeth, haha!!! I am glad it held up and she had fun with it :)
Leslie and Ben, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wedding day. We loved working with all that sunny yellow, which perfectly matches Leslie Ann's personality. After your wedding, yellow and silver became one of my new favorite color combinations!
