Today is one of those days where almost everyone is off of work...except Mary and I :) Seems a lot of our brides to be are taking advantage of this day off to get some wedding planning done (smart girls!)... so we are packed full of bride meetings today! For us this is all part of the fun though. So while Mary is out in the studio chatting it up with some of the sweet brides we met last week at the Running Deer Bridal Show, I figured I would get some work done and blog about a wedding I have been dying to share with everyone. When Katy contacted us about doing her wedding flowers we were ecstatic. We have known this family for years and years and it is always so much fun to be involved in doing the flowers for someone we have grown up with. Katy's family owns and runs Cowtown Rodeo and the rodeo and flea market are close to my heart. Our grandfather rarely missed a Tuesday at the flea market and he was so excited that we were involved in Katy's wedding. He passed away the Monday after Katy's wedding...and I know he was so proud of us that weekend and everything we accomplished. Each and every wedding is very personal to Mary and I, but this one held even more special meaning...because it meant so much to him too. Katy and RJ were married at Auletto's Catering in Deptford, NJ and if you are looking for a venue with space for lots of guests and an awesome outdoor ceremony area, you have got to check them out. Gary Johnson of Photography by Gary Johnson, was the photographer for the day so I knew we were going to get some awesome photos back.
Katy carried a bouquet of 'Cowtown' red roses :) I love a bright monochromatic bouquet like this one...it photographed amazing against her white gown.
Katy was a gorgeous bride, check out her beautiful smile.
We accented the bouquet with maidenhair fern and wrapped the stems with white satin and black lace.
Here is the glowing bride being walked down the aisle by her father.
Originally Katy wanted white tulips for her bridesmaids bouquets. Unfortunately, since it was October, the tulips just weren't the quality we wanted so we subbed paperwhites. I think when we used these for her wedding, paperwhites became a new favorite of mine! We wrapped the stems with red satin and a black lace overlay..love that lace!
Great shot - I love the cowboy boots and the lighting...oh, and of course the flowers too!
They were married outside under a tented area overlooking a pond. We made this piece to hang on the arbor using white garden roses, stock, and queen anne's lace.
On a table right where the guests entered we used red rose petals to form the Cowtown logo - so cute!
For the centerpieces we used our bell vases. We hung the table number inside using 'Cowtown' font :) I love little details like this that make a wedding really personal to the bride and groom. On top we designed in a separate dish so that the flowers could be sent home for the guests to enjoy. We used white hydrangea, white garden roses, phalaenopsis orchids, white stock, queen anne's lace, and green amaranthus. We used pearl strand to hang the table numbers and filled the top part of the vase with large pearls.
Thank you so much Katy and RJ for letting us be a part of your wedding day. We loved all the extra details that you added to make your day personal to you!
