I love the month of December...Christmas and my birthday (that counts as a holiday right???) all in one month! I think a lot of brides shy away from the month of December because they think everyone is already so busy, but I think December is a great month for a wedding. The holidays are a great excuse to have a big party...why not make your wedding the biggest party of the season!?! Send out your save the dates in plenty of time to let your guests know to plan to attend, and make your wedding a party to remember. Michelle and Matthew were married this past December, one week before Christmas. Their reception was held at Terra Nova in Sewell, NJ and I loved all the seasonal touches that we added. I like receptions that are held at nice restaurants and Terra Nova had a gorgeous private room that was perfect for Michelle and Matthew's dinner reception. Walter Homan Photography did a gorgeous job with the pictures and was kind enough to send us these beautiful shots. You can see some more great shots of Michelle and Matt's wedding HERE on Walter's blog.
A perfect reason to consider a winter wedding is this beautiful fur shrug....when else in your life would you get to wear a fur shrug?!?!?
Michelle carried a hand tied bouquet of picasso calla lilies, purple alstromeria, purple lisianthus, white stephanotis with rhinestone accents, and a collar of pine.
Here is a close up shot of the bouquet. I love the rhinestones in the center of the stephanotis...so pretty!
The bridesmaids wore lapis gowns and carried bouquets of picasso calla lilies, ivory roses, and pine.
At the church we did this arrangement of birch branches, dendrobium orchids, purple stock, and lavender spray roses. We added crystal garland and sparkling snowflakes to really make it have a winter wonderland look.
For their gift table we did a similar design but added some white hydrangea and ivory roses.
This is one of my absolute favorite designs that we do, a floral ring. I think the ring is the perfect size for a table centerpiece; it won't block your guests view but is large enough to be eye catching and beautiful. For this wedding we used white hydrangea, ivory roses, lavender spray roses, dark purple carnations, purple lisianthus, and touches of pine and seeded eucalyptus. In the center of the ring we used our lanterns, which looked perfect with the decor at Terra Nova.
The other half of the tables were done with this cylinder trio. We used 3 different sized cylinders filled with stock, dendrobium orchids, and ivory roses. We added silver ribbon and a snowflake to each cylinder. We also added our silver mercury votives to these tables. I love the simplicity of this design; so pretty!
This shot doesn't feature any flowers...but was way too cute for me not to include it!
Michelle and Matt, thank you for letting us be a part of your gorgeous winter wedding. We loved the colors and think you had the perfect amount of seasonal touches. Every December will be one to remember for the two of you, xoxo
