Philadelphia Wedding Florist: Erin and Bryan at Independence Seaport Museum
Today our first delivery of fresh, locally cut, sunflowers arrived for the 2013 season. I adore sunflowers. They are bright, cherry, and photography amazingly. I think a lot of brides feel that sunflowers are a casual flower, but done correctly they can be modern and fun. Check out this Philadelphia wedding that we did last May, all photographs courtesy of the amazing Tina Jay Photography.
The bridesmaids wore blue gowns, which really popped with bouquets of yellow sunflowers, craspedia, and roses. Erin (the gorgeous bride) carried a similar bouquet accented with cornflower to reflect the blue in the bridesmaids gowns. Many times bridesmaids wearing blue gowns, feel the need to try and match the blue through their flowers. Blue is a hard color to match though, so the best bet is to pop the blue with an accent color like yellow.
How stunning is this couple!??! The groom had a modern craspedia bout to match his yellow tie. I am loving the tan suit too!
Bouquets all lined up and looking pretty!
I love little accents like these pretty buttons we used on Erin's bridal bouquet.
The wedding took place at the Independence Seaport Museum, which was such a unique and fun venue. The couple was flanked with our wooden pedestals with large mounds of yellow football mums and a few hanging crystals.
Below is a close up of the ceremony decor.
The aisle and stairs to the ceremony area were accented with our wrought iron lanterns and scattered flowers.
Inside, the tables featured a modern design of a square arrangement of all yellow football mums around our lanterns, displayed on a silver tray.
The place card table featured a birdcage for guests to place their cards in and scattered flowers.
Each guest's place setting was accented with a single sunflower head. Touches like this add so much to the look of the table.
The cake was accented with groupings of yellow flowers, including sunflowers, ranunculus, and craspedia.
Next week we are beyond excited to be attending a floral workshop with Holly Chapple. Staying creative and modern is so important to us, and we are thrilled to meet up with some other florists and hope to be inspired by their designs. I am sure we will be posting updates on our facebook page, so make sure to check in often!
