Cape May Wedding Florist : Lindsay & Matthew at Congress Hall feat. Bride Diaries
If you are in the mood for some fabulousness today, then we have got the wedding for you. We give full credit to Pat Robinson Photography for filling our inbox with these photos of beautiful bouquets, a gold polka dotted cake and the most fantastically glitzy bridesmaids dresses we've ever seen.
Lindsay and Matt were such a great couple - it takes a lot for us to be excited to go down the shore in late December! The amazing aesthetics at Congress Hall make it hard to go wrong with floral selections - there is such a variety of colors and details to play off of. We actually have an upcoming tasting that we are excited for - there are so many different approaches we can take!
Take a look at and enjoy this glamorous winter wedding!
As if Lindsay didn't look beautiful enough in her Liv Harris gown, she chose these rose gold sequined bridesmaid gowns that we are just DROOLING over. Have you ever seen our sequined linen? This girl just hit the softest spot in our heart!
Lindsay's bridesmaids carried condensed versions of her bouquet, with more anemones, roses, and ginestra.
Matt's bout was a simple ranunculus with seeded euc, wrapped in our gold velvet ribbon.
We're really coming to appreciate this "First Look" trend that has been going on. Pictures of the groom being able to have a full reaction when seeing his bride for the first time is so incredible - plus getting pictures done early means more time for dancing!
Lindsay and Matt's ceremony space was adorned with this magnolia leaf wreath that the bride provided.
For Lindsay and Matt's sweetheart table and centerpieces, we used our silver compote with an arrangement of anemone, magnolia leaves, peonies, and roses.
Congratulations to this fun, stylish, and good looking couple!!
Lindsay's Bride Diaries
What was the most standout, "Wow!" moment of your wedding day?
It was all amazing!
We know things don't always go as planned...Were there any entertaining wedding bloopers?
I can honestly say, NO! At least not anything I noticed. I feel lucky.
Any wedding toasts that made you laugh til you cried? Cry your eyes out? Gasp in shock?
My dad mentioned the difficulties of potty training me as a kid, in detail. It was funny, I wouldn't have it any other way!
We don't judge! Did you have any Bridezilla moments of weakness?
For the most part, I think I kept calm. At one point the makeup artist finished with my mother-in-law and I HAD to say something. Her lipstick was too dark and the makeup looked too heavy, I know she felt the same way. So I asked them to try a different lip color and tone down the eyes a bit, I'm glad I said something.
Did you have a wedding planner? If so, what did he/she do to make your day run smoother? Did they fulfill your expectations?
Congress Hall provides a "day-of" planner who helps coordinate everything leading up to the wedding. Krystina did a great job answering my many questions and reassuring me that everything would go smoothly. On the day of the wedding she handled all of the ceremony and reception set up. Part of me wishes I had a little more control over that part. She wouldn't let my mom or anyone help, which I understand, but we knew exactly how everything should have looked. She still did a great job creating our vision. She was incredibly accommodating and helpful, it was a good thing we had her.
Cake or cupcakes? What was the flavor and theme?
Cake! We had two flavors: Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Buttercream and Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Chip buttercream. 4 tiers, White Icing with Gold Polka Dots cascading down the cake. It was adorable.
We always try to bring your floral dreams to life...did we succeed? In what ways? Is there any room for improvement?
Complete success! I procrastinated big time picking a florist so by the time I was ready to pick flowers, I couldn't make any more decisions. I knew A Garden Party would be able to create something better than I could in my head. So, with a few pinterest pics and a few "absolutely no's" they showed up with the most gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces! The boutineers and cuffs for the ladies were so perfect, I honestly can't think of anything I would have done differently.
What song really got the party started?
Beyonce - Single Ladies. Does it every time.
Who were your vendors?
Catering- Congress Hall
Bakery- Congress Hall
Dress- I bought my dress from Vows in Boston, it's featured on a TLC show called, "I found the gown." They buy high-end sample and overstock gowns from all over the country and sell them for great prices in the store. My gown was actually from their in-store line called Liv Harris.
Hair and Makeup- MadiFace (Molly Meyers Gross) and crew.
Entertainment- Aaron DiAngelo - The Quality DJ
Any other vendors you would like to credit? Our Photographer - Pat Robinson Photography. He's wonderfully nice and easy to work with. I think our photos are beautiful.
I hope your wedding was exactly as you imagined it would be, but are there any details that went above and beyond your expectations? Anything you wish you would've done differently?
Any details that went above and beyond my expectations were mostly due to my sisters. They thought of everything. I wouldn't have had a garter, a cage for cards, a guestbook, personalized cocktail napkins...I could go on. Congress Hall is a wonderful place to get married. The food was amazing, gorgeous venue, incredibly sweet and professional staff, they certainly know what they're doing. One thing I would change is the time limit ~ I know it's typical for the day to be condensed into very specific timelines when you use venues similar to CH, but it was so fun I wish it lasted longer. I could have spent another hour at cocktail hour and another 3 hours dancing. One other thing, I should have asked my photographer to take a photo of each table during dinner. I feel like we didn't get photos of a lot of guests and group table photos would have been the best way to include everyone.
