A Garden Party Art : Meet Cristina
Chalkboard Art is a great way to incorporate personality into any event. Some art is used as a fun way to give instructions - it can notify guests of signature drinks, directions to different parts of a venue, guest book requests, or preferred hashtags for events. Or it can be strictly aesthetic - add a pretty quote, an illustration, or a greeting to your guests!
Our in-house artist, Cristina, is our go-to girl for any kind of lettering or chalkboard art our clients order. Cristina attended Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School on an art scholarship, and specializes in acrylic painting, freehand lettering, and charcoal drawings. She is happy to use A Garden Party events as an outlet for her creative side. She can customize her work to whatever requests you may have, and is happy to take inspiration from your invitation font and theme or Pinterest board. In addition to chalkboards, Cristina has also started custom bouquet paintings, a great new way to preserve your bouquet in a more modern alternative to having your flowers dried.
The next few photos are courtesy of the talented Emily Wren Photography in a combination of weddings and styled shoots we've worked on together.
This hanging frame is part of A Garden Party rentals, so whether you need to rent one or have your own, we have you covered!
Next, we had a bat mitzvah in at the Mountain Lakes House in Princeton, and our client wanted signs to line the driveway leading guests to the venue. So much cuter to use our rented signs than a simple arrow!
Of course, our chalkboard art all began when brides wanted their guest lists written out instead of on individual cards. Here is a sample of a handwritten guest list used to display seating arrangements.
We then realized we could use this huge board in a myriad of different ways so that our beautiful brides could add personal touches to their wedding! Here is an image from Jennifer Baumann Photography showing former bride, Kristin's, order to add sentiment and her hashtag when welcoming guests to her ceremony.
Here is another example of our standing chalkboard put to use. Dear friend, Tami, of Tami Melissa Photography, ordered hers to decorate her gift table at her travel-themed baby shower!
We've even used it ourselves! Here is our new logo, recreated to advertise our booth at a recent bridal show at the Cira Centre in Philadelphia. You can also see one of Cristina's bouquet paintings next to the photo she used for her inspiration. Keep scrolling to see a few more examples of the bouquet art! We love having them in our shop...what better way to adorn our walls than with paintings of flowers??
We wanted to keep this one in our shop as a sample of Cristina's work, but as soon as we posted it, our bride Shannon recognized it and had to have it for herself. Thank you, Shannon!
Realizing we could use paintings to enhance the sentiment in our designs, we asked for this replica of the Jersey Fresh logo for a sympathy arrangement for a local farmer. Like the client who ordered this, we are huge supporters of the farming community and Jersey Fresh movement, so this painting was the perfect addition to the arrangement.
The artist at work! Here's Cristina, working on a painting at a styled shoot with Emily Wren Photography.
