A Milkhouse Party : Holiday Open House Review
A Milkhouse Party had its first public debut with a Holiday Open House last Saturday, and had great success in meeting and mingling with community members and vendors for some early Christmas shopping. We had some fun playing with decorations and loved being able to host other small business owners (as well as get some shopping done ourselves!)
This was also a great way to snag some future teachers for workshops! It was always our intention to have this space serve as an outlet for all sorts of creative classes and passion projects, and we are happy to be extending the list on our lineup. Be sure to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be added to the newsletter for future events!
When The American Garden Tool Company got wind of our Open House, she got in touch to participate. This was such a pleasant surprise for us! American-made products AND garden/farm related tools? Win/win!
We have followed Celebrated Lady jewelry for a while now, and having this sweet vendor was an extra special touch. Jennifer's handmade jewelry is so unique and her "Community over Competition" motto was a great motivator for all.
As well as hosting, A Garden Party has also started selling a variety of silk and fresh holiday arrangements. The evergreen kissing ball is now on display at our shop, and our wheels are turning with inspiration for our Christmas Centerpiece Workshop.
We finished the day with sore feet from standing but sore cheeks from smiling. This experience has given us hope for the future of A Milkhouse Party. The sense of community that radiated from guests and vendors made us proud to have followed our instincts and our dream. We thank ALL of those who came and supported us, and look forward to meeting even more guests. Over and over we heard the phrase "I had no idea something like this was so close!" to a variety of vendors, and the exposure has been phenomenal.
