Flourishing Florals at Bonnet Island Estate

Our last blog post featured a Behind the Scenes look at wedding planning with A Garden Party. Today, we’ll show you the finished product of the overgrown florals featured in Ashley and Jamie’s wedding. And we say “overgrown,” we mean the most lush, overflowing, everywhere-you-look-there-are-flowers kind of florals. It was ah-mazing.

The venue for today’s wedding was the ever beautiful Bonnet Island Estate in Manahawkin, NJ. This property is on a private island with gorgeous coastal views and prides itself on its “Great Gatsby” influence in terms of style and hosting capabilities. The images you see are from Ting Yi Studios, and we thank them for sharing them with us!

Ashley and Jamie’s wedding was in May, when the spring season was in full force and we could really take advantage of the abundance of blooming flowers. There are a ton of different purple varieties, but the amount of greenery helps balance the color scheme so that it’s not overwhelming. Using shades of pink and white also helped make these arrangements textured and interesting.

The ceremony space for the couple had a total “Wow!” factor, with an altar that had more natural elements than the forest itself. We loved the romance factor of the flickering candlelight in the fireplace, and the dreamy way the vines draped down from above.

We were totally in love with Ashley’s design choices, were thrilled that she let us run away with her ideas. Linen upgrades, tall centerpieces and window arrangements all came together to completely transform the reception space into a fairy tale of a wedding celebration. We worked so hard on these larger-than-life pieces, we can’t begin to describe how fulfilling it is to see them all come together for such a special occasion.

Gold accents, such as our centerpiece stands and hanging candle holders complemented the gold chairs and gave a more formal feel.

The best way to create a sense of intimacy in a room is to make sure every corner is covered, so that no matter where a guest is seated they will always feel a part of the event. These large window arrangements did just that, making the entire room feel encased with flowers and helping to complete the enchantment of the space.

We are STILL so in love with this dessert display! If we could share it a hundred times, we would. We’ll settle for designing with this hoop a hundred times instead. It was such a unique twist, and ended up even better than we could have pictured it.

A huge congratulations to this special couple! We absolutely loved working with these two and were overjoyed in this event experience. This kind client even reached out to us after her wedding to flatter us with her kind words (see below)

A word from the bride…

“…We wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our heart for making our wedding dreams come true. It felt like a garden fairytale wonderland and I can safely say that my favorite and the most jaw-dropping element of the entire wedding was the floral design.

Our trust in you paid off and you did not disappoint. There are many things that can go wrong on the big day, but we never had any worry that something would go wrong with your design. Your professionalism is top notch and even during the stress of the day you were true rockstars and were calm, cool, and collected.

The flowers truly exceeded our expectations above and beyond. We have been getting many compliments about our wedding but the one that keeps coming up time and time again were the flowers. That is a true testament to your talents. I really do hope we can work together in the future!”

Thank you, Ashley!! XOXO
