Whimsical Garden Wedding at Winterthur
Hi Flower Friends!
After a bit of a blogging-maternity-leave, we are back and ready to share some of our favorite past events with you. With the gardens starting to bloom and crazy wedding season about to hit, we can't think of a better time to get inspired by these gorgeous images.
Today we're gushing over the enchanting setting of Winterthur, as photographed by Hudson Nichols Photography. We've known about Winterthur because of its horticultural aspect and adorable fairy gardens, but hadn't worked a private event there until last year. Talk about a hidden treasure! With lush forests, walking trails and moss covered stairways, it's as if we're walking through a literal magical setting.
Of course, the day was taken to the next level thanks to Erin of Proud to Plan event coordinating. The attention to detail and organization insures that all vendors are on the same page and that couples maximum results on their wedding day. Seriously, these ladies are the best and we're always pumped when we see they're involved in an event.
Enjoy these images from Julie and Andrew's fairy tale wedding!
Julie's bouquet was filled with pastel tones, making it the perfect representation of a garden wedding. Light roses, blue delphinium and delicate clematis looked as if they were plucked right from their surroundings at Winterthur.
We had a lot of fun making the bouts for the gentlemen, especially Andrew's mix of blue thistle, spray rose and lavender.
The flower girls looked like little garden princesses with floral crowns and bouquets of hydrangea, thistle, waxflower and stock.
Our birch canopy is ideal for a ceremony in nature - pretty ivory draping and lush arrangements of roses and vines transformed it into a beautiful altar to embrace the couple during their vows. Our iron stakes held aisle arrangements of dahlias and thistle, and long flowing ribbons helped to romanticize the look.
There is nothing that makes our heart flutter as much as using antique elements and giving them new life. Maggpie Vintage Rentals offers such an amazing variety of rental furniture and items that bring a ton of character to any event., as you can see with this buffet piece. Julie and Andrew's vintage drink station was adorably staged with our rusty bike and drawers, and of course, dressed up with flowers.
Using our wire plant stand trio as place card holders made them just as functional as they were decorative. The mossy elements and draping vines made them feel right at home in this reception space.
How gorgeous is this tented reception set up? We love how this allows guests to still fully enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings - because let's be real, the backdrop doesn't get much prettier than this!
Custom signage gave guests a sneak peek of the meal to come!
Vintage glass bud vases, rosemary napkin details and flickering candlelight all came together to create a look that was timeless and romantic.
Now THAT is a wedding cake! With such a beautiful dessert, it was obvious that it needed a display just as pretty. A vintage table was adorned with vines and candlelight, and a cascading collection of roses and waxflower gave this cake the attention it deserved!
Congratulations, Julie & Andrew! Thank you so much for letting us be a part of such a special day!
